Delirium presents PLASTIK feat. Ben Sims Friday February 18 2005 : 10pm til late Ambar
After a 15 month absence ... the return of the 3 deck master .... for a special intimate extended set at Ambar ... supported by a selection of Perth's finest.
Ben Sims (UK) : Ben Sims can be best described as the man who single handily redefined the interpretation and presentation of techno. He is responsible for taking the party sound back to the techno dancefloor. After his stunning; jaw-dropping performance at Global some 15 months ago he returns to Perth for a special performance. His techniques and talents command the turntables like no other DJ. Since his first tour to Australian shores just under four years ago, Sims has risen from being an underground techno artist to become one of the busiest and highest profiled DJs on the international circuit. In a genre that propagates soundalikes, Ben Sims’ production has attracted widespread attention and has seen it’s fare share of copycat productions. He’s been acknowledged by contemporaries as creating a postive techno style-shift, his work supported by a broad cross-section of DJs and is regularly featured in the boxes of his own personal heroes like Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and Rolando in addition to almost all of the high profile techno jocks on the worldwide circuit. Ben Sims operates five labels, and has employed a definite function for each ... Hardgroove; Theory; Ingoma; Native and Symbolism. He has remixed Green Velvet, Blake Baxter and Adam Beyer and alongside many upcoming projects has a forthcoming artist album on the forward-thinking UK label Peacefrog. Ben's productions have enjoyed success on numerous prestigious labels, such as Primate, Primevil, Code Red, Tresor, Phont Music and Pure Plastic. The master returns ... a man that never disappoints ... no bullshit here; no hype; no false promises ... an incredibly skilled and inventive DJ; unique in style and sound ... set for an extended set to one of his favourite audiences in the world. www.bensims.com
