In 1997 Piet Bervoets and Benno de Goeij met and formed Rank 1, the prophetic tongue in cheek name rang true soon after as ‘Airwave’ shot to the top of dance charts worldwide. They followed up with ‘Such Is Life’ and then huge anthem ‘Awakening’ propelled the boys to superstar status as at the peak of the trance wave. More recently releases such as ‘Breathing’, ‘Symsonic’ and last years ‘Opus 17’ and ‘Top Gear’ as well as their famous live and DJ performances have seen Rank 1 maintain their presence in the DJ Mag Top 100.
