We’re halfway through the season and Boomtick is back with the fifth Major Break, ready to astound yet again! This sell out event has hosted champagne breakbeat with the likes of JDS, Skool of Thought, Hook N Sling, Dopamine, the Drumattic Twins, Krafty Kuts, The Breakfastaz and The Crystal Method. This year, Boomtick continues the Murray Street takeover as Ambar and Gilkisons Dance Studio succumb to the sounds:

No stranger to our shores, the Godfather of breakbeat is back for another Boomtick spectacular.

Rennie Pilgrem:
•    instigated the term Nu-Skool,
•    was the first person to put out a mix album using Ableton Live,
•    was voted ‘Most Valuable/Influential Person’ at The International Breaks Awards four years running and
•    has made his new album so easy to own by making it available via SMS download! ‘Skin’ sees him saddle up with BLIM, Uberzone, Arthur Baker & Chickaboo and highlights his skills with live drums, bass, keyboard and guitar as well as a seven piece horn section.

Madox is leading the way when it comes to the electro-breaks sound. His production work is perfect crossover music, sitting well in any electro or tech funk set. With a list of impressive accolades including being nominated for Best Producer and DJ in the 2007 Breakspoll awards, and being touted as the one to watch by DJ Mag, Boomtick delivers another first as Madox makes his Ambar debut.

Jono Fernandez is no newbie to the west side, he’s collaborated with Meat Katie, Dylan Rhymes, TV Rock’s Ivan Gough and D Ramirez and most recently with Kid Kenobi, spawning JFKK - hitting the ARIA’s and jumping to #15 after just two weeks on the charts. Never a disappointment to Ambar crowds, Jono’s tech-funk sound is exactly what the referee ordered!
    
You won’t be caught holding the ball as Ambar/Boomtick’s most talented DJs play the beats you deserve. The Takers (Live) are new to Ambar and have only but amazed and bedazzled, their set at the Big Day Out still much talked out. Expect a blend of big break-beats and basslines, bangin’ grooves, fat funky grabs all mixed with a barrel of tricks to boot!
Lo-Key Fu (Live) is a local producer who has been making plays all around town. After playing Breakfest, winning the Best Electronic Producer award at the WAMI’s, and releasing a dancefloor sensation on Title Fight internationally, it’s high time Perth got to see this man in action once again.
Micah needs no introduction to the Perth massive, award winning, party starting, radio announcing, this man has it all and he’ll be delivering it in true Ambar style.
