Habitat presents one of Germany’s hottest producers, Lutzenkirchen (3hr set)
Friday 22 August 2008
Tobias Lutzenkirchen is a name well known to most in the dance music scene. Lütze, the son of a Cuban and a German, has produced a huge string of successful releases, gracing the record boxes of the world’s top dj’s. His music elegantly fuses the most compelling elements of techno, progressive, electro and house, infecting minds and bodies with treacherous rhythms and slandering grooves.
Lutzenkirchen’s debut track Daily Disco was one of Great Stuff’s most successful releases, receiving praise by top DJs around the globe. His second release Zombie with John Acquaviva became the 2nd most downloaded track for Beatport in 2005. In 2006 he unleashed a string of suberb productions such as his spectacular remix of Coburn's Give me Love in 2006, again a Beatport Number 1 for several weeks and a huge international hit.
In the meantime he moved to Munich and combined his studio equipment with electro veteran Tomcraft, becoming his sound engineer. Since then the countless successful releases have continued to flow, including a string of Beatport Number 1’s, including Paperboy, A View To A Sea, Storm Chaser & Boogie Nights. He has also been involved in a wide variety of other projects including LXR, LK-Pro, Elektroluxx, Bully Boys, Mike Litt, L.Y.T.Z. and the Electronauts. Not only that, he’s remixing talents have become very sought after, delivering for the likes of Meat Katie, John Digweed, John Aquaviva and Perth’s own Signal Drivers.
To top it all off, he has set up his very own label Platform B to offer him and his raving friends an outlet, and Tabula Raza with Systematic Label Manager Marc Romboy. Does this guy ever sleep?
All this has left Lutzenkirchen in huge demand as a dj, spending most of the last 12 months Djing around the globe, from all over Europe and Japan to South America. He's been featured at a number of international festivals including the Love Parade in Berlin and Universo Parallello in Mexico. And with all this success in such a short space of time, the future is looking very bright!
Lutzenkirchen will be making his debut Australian appearance in an intimate 3hr show for Habitat, upstairs @ Bar Open on Friday 22 August. Tickets are $30, and are available from Planet Video & InTheMix.com.au
