Major Break 6 *** Venue Change***

That’s right! Major Break is moving across the tracks to Villa Nightclub - the event capacity, vibe and ticket price will remain the same, but this time it’s all under one roof.

A full refund will be offered to those who do not wish to attend due to the venue change. Please contact the retailer from whom you purchased the tickets.
Refunds will cease at close of business Wednesday 8 July.

Although this is not a two room event we will be offering free entry at Ambar to anyone who has a ticket to Major Break.
Please see the Boomtick Website for more details.

The winter go-to gig on your festivity calendar is back again this July. The fix is in for this year’s mid season meet – locked, loaded and well- oiled by the master of all coaches, going for calibre, nationalities aside, the teams have been picked, the lines have been marked. Get your ticket now because this one’s going straight through the posts for GOAL one.

Musically speaking, #6 is awash with what’s so hot right now and a back to breakbeat motto – expect a  brew of breakbeat, electro roots, rude basslines and a touch of something extra.

HERE’S HOW TO GET YOUR FIX:
DRUMATTIC TWINS (UK, Finger Lickin’)
MARTEN HORGER (Boogie Army/Smash Hifi)
FUNKTRUST DJS

And a local line up comprising:

THE BOOMTICK ELITE

Seems like eons since the DrumAttic Twins came to Perth – take a trip down memory chicane with us to the inaugural Major Break in 2004: The ‘Twins blowing the roof off at Ambar bedazzling Perth. Their return, highly anticipated and long awaited is sure to set the trail blazing!

Show stopping seminal tracks like ‘Feelin’ Kinda Strange’ and ‘Hyperspeed’ have earned the DrumAttic Twins their fair share of accolades, but now they’re about to unleash their finest work to date in the form of their second album ‘Hammer & Tongs’- A savvy melange of breakbeats, soaring strings, electro roots, sprinklings of soul and rude basslines.

Nick and partner in drum-criminology Lanx already carried with them the wealth of the pre-emptive jewels that would ensure their success with Finger Lickin’ - solid chunks of funk, house, hip hop, and of course, breakbeat. In May 2009 the duo release ‘Hammer & Tongs’, an expertly crafted collection of club orientated tracks that compress time and space with explosive and dramatic impact. Be warned, the DT’s are about to smash it once again in 2009.

Marten Hörger is a man of many aliases. If you don't recognise him from his banging tech, electro and broken beats production as a solo artist, or his collaboration with Leeroy Thornhill (ex Prodigy) as Smash HiFi, then you'll likely recognise him as a member of the massive Breakbeat duo, Boogie Army, recently dubbed “the next Level of Breakbeat” by DJ Mag. Responsible for one of the longest running nights in Germany, and having toured with Krafty Kuts, Dub Pistols and Leeroy Thornhill, Boogie Army are renowned for throwing down all sorts of party-starting elements from electro, hip-hop and of course breakbeat, the Duo aims for one thing only: making the crowd maaad!

The FunkTrust DJs have been gagging to come back to Perth for ages after playing every possible Sydney festival and conquering dancefloors at an array of clubs that list longer than a piece of string.

Both members of FunkTrust are certified funk obsessive’s, whose declared mission is the flagrant disregard of genre allegedly owing to a belief that good music knows no bounds, but actually due to their incapacity to concentrate for periods longer than three and a half minutes. You’re as likely to hear hip-hop, rock, funk, breakbeat, disco, speed garage and/or drum n bass as you are house and electro. In fact, it’s entirely likely that you’ll hear it all. All killers, no fillers – FunkTrust take pride in their capacity to construct a set to rock any dancefloor.

Seize this rare opportunity to see a festival sized line-up at one huge night-time event, in the heart of the city.

Presale tickets have sold out!

Limited door sales from 9pm.
