Gold returns this July with a very special night of the rawest funk from some of Perth’s most renowned and illustrious DJs. Get down and join us as one of the seminal house crews in Perth’s history sets the Ambar booth alight.

In 1998, three local DJs got together to put an end to 'deep house' being a dirty word. Matty P, Declan, and Dan Stinton, better known as the Raw Funk Crew, dragged house from the background café vibe it was known for and turned it into a genre that filled places like Greenwich, Players and Geisha on a weekly basis. They hosted packed stages at festivals like Vibes on a Summer's Day and Science Fiction, put on regular pub and bar nights around the city and hosted weekly shows on RTRFM’s Full Frequency. Shifting the focus from the Techno obsession Perth had at the time, the Raw Funk Crew took their music to the people and without a doubt helped shape the renaissance of house in Perth through the late 90’s and into the 00’s.

We’re very happy to have Matty P, Declan and all the way from his new east side digs Dan Stinton in the house for a night a deep grooves, jackin’ beats and soulful vibes. With the night being kicked off by Roller main man Devo, droppin’ a special 2 step set and closed out by Perth house heavyweight Terry Waites. This is going to be one massive night!
