I heard that Carl slept through his scheduled set time, and awoke later in the night and actually played at 5am, anyone got any more comments on this one?
Featuring:
Supports: Special 2 hour set by Greg Packer mixing it up on 3 decks! Should be good.
Tickets: $30+BF
This night was a blinder! We arrived mid way through Kev's set, were he was really working the crowd, wicked set Kev. Then it was Paul Holden,
and his set went rite off, with happy and hard trance/hard house. Then the feature came on the stage, with 2 of those dancers (pictures soon),
Ultra Sonics set was what you come to expect from them, with the usual "Is there anybody Out there?", but they are masters of working the
crowd into a mass frenzy. Their music was a bit different from the last time they were here, most of it was new, and a bit slower and tiny bit trancier
then their usual. But the Perth crowd loved it calling out for "One more" at the end of their set. It would have been hard to play after Ultra Sonic,
but Packer managed, playing hardcore, then crossing over into some jungle, what made the dance floor glow. Daz Willot played a housey set
which didn't go down as well, then Packer again with his oldskool set which was the highlight of Entropy, mixing '92 through to '94 classics so quickly
that it seemed non-human, well done Packer!
But the night was a good one, with a crowd of about 2500-3000, and the setup looking and sounding kool,
only complaint was that the bouncers were a bit bitchy, and you gotta love that, go outside for a breath then wait for 30 minutes while the bouncer let in 4 every 10 minutes.

There wasn't as many people as expected here, probably due to the lack of advertising, but the night went ok, the happy crowd was not very appreciative of the jungle set played by Packer, Vibes had a good set as like was expected.

This was a reunion like no other, with the atmosphere being electric,
and the massives staying till the end, with Packer having a really rocking last set.
Venue: Krush nightclub
Not much details on how this went, anyone want to help me out?
Featuring:
This party is gonna be a good quality production, with Turbo sound and lasers.
We rocked up here at around 12ish and at that time there wasn't many people at all, and the people that were there were very young. I heard there was a scrap between the Ravers and the rappers also, and that the party was closed around 2. We didn't end up playing because our set was supposed
to happend at 10pm, so it wasn't worth the hassel of lagging up the computers.
Featuring:
Back 2 Back set: Venue: Gravity Nightclub
This was a wicked night and first of all i'd like to say BIG UP the Teknology Corps and Vermin Crew. Gravity was full the whole night long, and the atmosphere was wicked,
Packer had a cool set playing housy breakbeat, then Havoc with a solid hardcore set, then the boys Hutcho and Kev playing some hardcore/tekno and happy, then Dutchy and Dsire playing back to back which was wicked, and rest of the djs were rocking also. Hardboiled 4 soon eh?
The time for experimentation is here. Join us for an abstract party to celebrate Deliriums 2nd birthday and to experience the ACID TEST phenomenon.

new stuff, and a mixture of style.

The usual Gravity turn out, good night overall.
Featuring:
Chillout Room:
Tickets: $12 Presale & $15 on the door.
Anyone wanna give a review here.
This party had a few disappointment's, like Force & Styles not showing, and the sound
being a bit weak, but then again there were a few surprises like the Venue, which was really wicked,
and the big cherry picker. When we arrived around 11, Ramos was into his first set playing some trance,
then NU-23 came on, wicked trance, but it didn't quite suite the event, then Rob Fender came on playing
some hardcore, he done well considering the speakers were full on cutting out. Kevin had a pumpin set,
then the man Greg Packer played a ol'skool set which was the highlight of the night, playing anthem
after anthem, Fanatik had a solid set, then it was Supreme with happy hardcore. There was more people
at the first HS, maybe because of the ticket prices and the line up, 2000 people in a 4000 capacity
venue still looks very empty. But overall, it was a good show.
Be sure to check the HS pics very soon!!
19th Sept '97 CJ BOLLAND RICHIE RICH Supports: MR WHIPPY - C.S.U MIGGY - PUFF TROY Tickets: $26+BF Venue: Planet Nightclub.

This party was held at the Beechborra Soccer club, that venue is MAD! I didn't expect much of a setup with the entry fee being $10, but it was wicked, with 2 wicked lazers and awsome lights, plus a bouncy castle. The night had alot of olskool, jungle and a bit of happy, the night finished at 4 with the coppers closing it down, and everyone having a last dance under full normal lights. Packer had a wicked set, with some intense D'n'B and jungle really working the crowd. Supreme's set had a nice atmosphere, especially when the BIG baloons were thrown into the crowd. The sound was a bit weak for the venue size, the lighting was quite good, with the 2 lazers kicking all night, overall this was a great night, with a cool atmosphere finishing a bit early but the venue was booked at 7 in the morning so they had to. One of the MCs said 4000 people here?? Tickets Before 18/4/97 $24 - 18-25/4/97 $29 After 25/4/97 $34 and $40 on the door. This event was MASSIVE! The cue was one of the biggest that Perths raves have had in a long time, only letting in 5 at a time, it took us one hour to eventually get there, but once we did (about 12ish) it was wicked, the sound was excellent, nice and crispy with wicked bass. The lighting was going off, oh and the laser, fuck that was wicked, doing color laser animation, pans etc. Really nicely set out with plants, and lights where ever they could put em. We got there when Inertia started, then came Daz Willot with a awesome set, scatching and turning, he really got the crowd jumpin. Ultrasonic came on after, and didn't dissapoint, going crazy on stage and really making the party people move, with really nice dancers Ultrasonic were greeted well by Perth. Then MC Ribbs got on the decks with some really kool tekno and hardtrance, big up Ribbs! Then the Zig Zag ripped up the decks with some kool hardstep. Missed Hutcho, Merrick and Packer ;/ . But we went hard until Entropy II came to a close. This was a wicked event, BIG UP to UV for staging it, keep it up! Bit more HARDCORE next time. ;) DJ Aphrodite 12 April 1997 Aphrodite is one of the UKs better known Jungle Dj/Producers. Supporting DJs Greg Packer - Style Brian G - Zig Zag Sample - Splink-E Menis - Internatty. At The Hellenic Hall, Tickets $15 presale. Well, this night wasn't that great, the lights were crap, and the sound wasn't that good. We got there around 11 and there was no one there, Aphro had a long 3 hr set, and then more people started coming, he played some kool hardstep and some dark, but there was no atmosphere. Packer prolly only had 20 people on the floor when he played at around 4-5. Better luck next time LSD & UV. DONT MISS THE UPLIFTING SOUNDS OF HAPPY, HARDCORE, JUNGLE & GABBA. This night turned out being really kool, it was at the Hellenic Club (due 2 lack of venues) but other than that it went off. The lights were fuking wicked, really kool, and the laser added 2 the atmosphere. The sound was nice and bassy turbo sound. The night kicked of with a few little problems, 1st there wasn't that much power in the place so the PAs had 2 play seperate so we ended up playing at 10:30 ;(, then there was a prob with one of the decks, but after that the place started filling. Packer had the best set, Hutcho played a really kool set 2, The party was pumpin all night long and most ppl stayed till 5-6. RESPECT 2 THE LSD CREW! Kenny Ken Friday 14th March Direct from the UK KENNY KEN He began DJing in 1988. He started playing for one of Londons logest running clubs, Labrynth in 1989. Supported by Bjam - Jay Greg Packer - Echoic QBall 18+ event, Tickets $18+BF, event held at GRAVITY. Well it was a well wicked night...more crowded than for the Hype/Randall event. Usual strange atmosphere at Perth events like that though...people going off to one track then when a dj played a similar one, the floor cleared...its like they're wasting time till the main attraction gets on. Kenny Ken came on and played a great set - keeping close eye on the crowd the whole time...dropping some quite old stuff...even back to '94/'95 and then most of the final hour was class dark dubplates. Really down2earth guy, who hung around to speak to people, unlike most others who run off straight away in the back room. A good night. Shout going out to MC kev who was more drunk than I've seen him for a while - how i got him home I'll never know!!! Thanx 2 Hutcho for the Comment, Bigup Hutcho!! FUSE 8th March Direct from Chicago the worlds No.1 Techno DJ JEFF MILLS Supported by Andrew Meredith Puff Shamus This is a 18+ event, tickets are $25+BF, and its going to be held at GRAVITY. I was expecting a pretty big turn out for this party and I ended up greatly disappointed. I've seen more people at a normal Gravity Saturday night then what turned out to see one of the best DJ's in the world. But I must admit those who did turn out made what was a half empty Gravity seem like a full house with everyone really getting into and appreciating the music. Jeff Mills came on at 1:30am and did a 2 and 1/2 hour set of what was some of the best mixing one could ever see. Jeff rarely looked at the croud but he could definatly tell he was appreciated. Jeff is one of the best and it's a damn shame there where very few people to see him, maybe they where all at Northern Exposure? Northern Exposure Saturday 8th March SASHA Sasha is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and creative house DJ's in the world. DIGWEED John Digweed is the smoothest and silkiest mixer of house music in the UK. Venue released on the day by phone (0055 26046) This event is by Mental Productions - Universal Vision & Vinyl Force Australia Yeah it turned out that the venue had to be changed at the last minute and so the recorded phone message hadn't changed. However after a bit of phoning around I found out that, yes, it was being held in the Hellenic Club! The venue was shithouse - the equivalent of a bingo players get-together club. The MC's kept appologising for the crap venue and thanked us for still being there. Apart from that it was pretty good. The MC's got very excited about the lasers they were using. The music was good - no breaks except one of the DJ's (i cant remember who) had a record that just wouldnt play - he had two attempts at it but it was just no go. It got way too hot and the toilets were constantly full but overall it was a success - I still can't hear properly - let alone walk. :) Thanks to Colby J for the comment. INFINITY 15th FEB 1997 include: Zig Zag Rhino Impulse Scratch-E Mr Happy MC G-Rock + A Live PA By VIOLATION $15 on the Door. The venue will be revealed on the 15th of Feb at Wasted Daze. Infinity is an all ages event, rocking from 8 till late. This night didn't quite goes as planned due to the lack of people (mainly because Rockingham is soo far away). Mr Happy (Nick) started the night, with a hardhouse set, then DJ Freestyle went into some Happy Hard, but then it was ALL jungle dj's till 12. The crowd was getting tired of it, and then when VIOLATION PA came on;) at 12 the crowd really went off! We started off playing some kool hardcore, then into a bit of jungle, then some happy and after that we punished the crowd with some wicked gabba!! After us Zig Zag came on and done a kool set! INFINITY had pritty kool sound and kool lights for a rave its size. I had my finger on the smoke machine and strobe for most the night ! PASSION Sunday 26th JAN 1997 SUGAR RAY is without a doubt one of Australias premier DJs. In 1993 he was included in the UK DJ Magazine's, top 100 DJs worldwide. NO COMMERCIAL HYPE OR BULLSHIT. Full facilities at the venue and free water all night. DJs Hutcho -Jacen Skeptik - Menis Internatty - Kracka Instinct - Animal Intelligence p.a Entry is five bucks on the door, no party, no pay. When we arrived, there was alot of ppl outside and no music, so we thought it might be cancelled, then the music started up and we got into the raven spirit. ;). For $5 this was a wicked event, not many lights but there was a desent sound system, the venue which was at the Mt Lawley Tennis courts, was rather small, but there wasn't that many ppl so it wasn't that crowded. Started of with happy hard, then progressed more into hardcore then gabba, and after that went into drum n base. Kool rave for $5, big up 2 Dust Promotions and Tantrum Crew! DJ HYPE Saturday 25th January "I live, breathe, eat and shit this scene, you have to!" says HYPE, who has been immersed in Bass-driven music since the late 70's when he started hanging around reggae sound systems, soaking up the vibe and learning how to use a graphic equalizer. With Perths own: Jay - Echoic B-Jam - Q-Ball Rosko Tickets $18+BF, this event will be held at Gravity. Saturday night turned out to be very different to what a lot of people had expected. Some ppl were extremly pissed off that they hadnt been informed of Hypes abcence yet others were just glad that some other UK DJ was here instead. That other DJ turned out to be the one and only legendary DJ RAndall. The night kicked off at 10pm with a 2 hr set done by my self. Jay took over from there for the next hour playing all his latest hot promos. DJ Qball came on after that and did the warm up set before the Randall stepped up to do his business. MC kev did the announcing. He was extremly pissed at the time but never the less did a good job. He mentioned to the perth junglists that incidently had the Gravity room almost to its capacity that Hype was unfortunatly not coming how ever in place of Hype was Dj Randall... The crowd were a little stunned at first but when Mc marty came on and hyped the crowd they went absolutly ballistic for Randall. The crowd must have urged him on cause he played the most killin set ive ever heard an international play here in Perth. The tunes were dark but at the same time very dance floor friendly. He had the perth massive rocking Gravity non stop for 2 hrs. What a dude...It was good to hear a DJ experimenting with stuff that he would not normally play. Some of the new sounds that I heard from his tunes have just inspired me even more. Any way it was now 4am and DJ Rosco stepped up for his set. It was Rosco's first prime time set and what a time to have it playing after the Randall. The crowd were still buzzing from Randalls set and when Rosco dropped his first track he didnt dissapoint either. He carried on where Randall had left off, rollin snappy beats and punchy dark bass lines. DJ Echoic stepped up for the grave yard set, last one of the night. As usual the expert mixing skills of Echoic were put on show once again. cutting in and out of tracks to perfection and playing the tracks he knows we all loved right through til 6 am. As the last track faded and the in house lights came on the remanding troopers left on the dance floor showed there appreciation and that was the end of yet another exellent night for all Perth Jungle Massive......Roll on Mickey Finn.!!!! DJ RATTY 11th Jan 1997 In a career spanning 8 years, DJ Ratty's cut mixing and scratching combined with his awesome talent on three turntables have seen him rise to the top.
