Where did you perform for New Year's Eve?
I was in England for the first NYE since the Millenium actually. I did two Renaissance gigs one at the old faithful The Cross in London and then later at Stealth in Nottingham which is only 20 miles from whereI now live.. So i was home early on New Years day - a very pleasant change.
You recently started a new label, Audiotherapy, do you have any New Zealand or Australian DJ's signed yet? We've put out records from a few Australian acts already. Infusion, Phil K and Digby and Oliver. We also have Luke Chable signed to our agency.
What's on your CD player at the moment?
This week I've been mostly listening to: Athlete, LCD Soundsystem, The Doves, Miranda Lee Richards, Freeform Five, Chemical Brothers, Steven Lindsay and Nouvelle Vague.
Tell me about your first gig? It was in 1981, a friends 11th Birthday party. I was only twelve myself. I recall Bucks Fizz being number one with "Making your Mind Up" and having to borrow a second turntable from a friend.
Who would you most like to work with on a track? Sienna Miller. I don't even know or care if she can sing or Jamelia's a hottie too. Maybe even both of them together! Or what about Girls Aloud. That'd be fun!!
As a DJ, what's your take on the direction of the global dance scene at the moment? Its going forward as always. What other direction can it go in?!
What can we expect from your set at Two Tribes on March 6?Lots of CD's and still a few records mixed and served as a buffet of electronic house music with a little arm waving and occasional pogo-ing (when I can muster the energy) thrown in at no additional charge.
How big is your record collection and what is your favourite album at the moment?I own around 10,000 records. I got rid of a load a couple of years ago. And my favourite album of the moment is probably Athletes 'Tourist" closely followed by The Doves.
What's on the cards for you production-wise this year? We've just had a remix of the new Tears for Fears single 'Closest Thing to Heaven' released and are currently working on a follow up single to 'My Own Worst Enemy' called 'Something to Believe In'. But my main priority for the next couple of months is Therapy Sessions Vol. 2 which I've just done with Luke Chable and we'll be touring all over the world to support it.
