Sharam (Deep Dish) Biography
Sharam’s ‘PATT (Party All The Time)’ makes an apt arrival during the height of the Xmas season on Data Records, which is finishing the year on a high with another club smash after its recent UK Number 1- Fedde Le Grand’s ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’.
Having been ‘front of box’ for the world’s DJ elite for several months and signed to Data from Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi label, it’s being tipped as one of the biggest club records of 2006. To date, Pete Tong has played it a staggering 8 times on Radio 1 and made it an Essential New tune, with Sara Cox, Judge Jules (Tried & Tested) and Dance Anthems also on board- Jules having spun it twice on one show alone.
A tribute to the Eddie Murphy song ‘Party All The Time’, produced by Rick James and a #1 US hit back in 1985, Sharam, being a huge fan of the legendary comedian, originally put the track together for just himself to play. But after giving out a few copies to friends and DJs who’d witnessed the dancefloor response, the track swiftly took on a life of its own and a worldwide bidding war ensued – it’s since shown all the hallmarks of a crossover hit. ‘PATT’ itself is a peak time synth-driven track demonstrating once again that Sharam, like all great artists, refuses to be constrained by hype and genres.
As part of the 4 time Grammy Award nominated and Grammy Award winners Deep Dish, Iranian born Sharam Tayebi has been one half of the most successful US dance duo in history for over a decade. Following 3 recent top 15 hit singles from their acclaimed album, ‘George Is On’, he and Dubfire have decided to take a break from all things ‘Dish’ to continue their solo duties as DJs and producers. Sharam is first out of the blocks; he’s just released a solo Global Underground album, ‘Dubai’, and recently recorded a track called “Be The Change’ for his friend Anousheh Ansari, the world’s first private female astronaut, to accompany her voyage into space.
