Jon Pearn Biography
Jon Pearn is one of the world’s most respected and innovative producers. Over his long and distinguished career Jon has enjoyed widespread commercial success, initially as one half of Full Intention, and more recently with Bodyrox.
Working alongside Michael Gray as Full Intention, Jon’s first hit the UK charts with a mix for Duke on "So In Love With You". Producing as Full Intention and a number of different aliases such as Hustler’s Convention, Deep Down and Disco-Tex, Jon and Michael went onto on to be one of the world’s most celebrated production duos.
Full Intention’s impressive discography includes anthems such as "America (I Love America)", "Everbody Loves The Sunshine" and "I’ll Be Waiting", while their prolific remix schedule saw them remix artists such as Mariah Carey, Brandy, Jamiroquai, Ultra Nate, Jennifer Lopez and Frankie Knuckles. In 2004, Jon and Michael were nominated for a Grammy for their remix on George Michael’s "Amazing".
Since mixing the acclaimed compilation "Connected – 10 Years Of Full Intention" on Defected in 2006 and releasing "I Believe In You" on Eye Industries in 2007, Jon has been mainly focused on the Bodyrox project. Working alongside Nick Bridges, the massive "Yeah, Yeah" took the world by storm in 2006 and received universal radio and club support. "Yeah, Yeah" picked up UK radio support from the likes of Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Fergie, Dave Pearce, Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Annie Mac, Edith Bowman and Annie Nightingale and once supplemented by a unique vocal from Luciana became the defining anthem to the "Nu Rave" movement. Upon its official release in October 2006, "Yeah, Yeah" debuted at #2 in the UK charts and still receives regular plays on national radio.
Throughout 2007, Jon was nominated for a prestigious Ivor Novello Award ("Best Contemporary Song") for "Yeah, Yeah" before achieving further widespread success with the Another Chance project and "What Planet You On" – the follow up Bodyrox single. "Everytime I See Her (Sound Of Eden)" was a collaboration with Nick Bridges under the Another Chance pseudonym that received heavy support and hit the summit of the club charts.
Additionally, Jon launched his own Juki Records imprint in 2005 which has released a number of acclaimed releases such as "$treet Price" and "Trippin’’ - releases that have been supported by the likes of Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg, Nic Fanciulli and Mark Knight. It was through Juki Records that Jon first collaborated with Nick Bridges as Pearn & Bridges on "$treet Price".
Jon had another stellar year in 2008. Having toured the world DJing with Full Intention and Bodyrox, Jon is now busy touring as a solo DJ. On the production front there is a Bodyrox album in the pipeline as well as Pearn & Bridges track ("Intoxicated") set for release on Hed Kandi. Full Intention are also set to release new material in 2009 so it is clearly evident that Jon is currently firing on all cylinders!!
