Exactly what I thought, its popping up everywhere, all sorts of adds. They think everyone wants to be a DJ these days so they put a "kewl" track in there ad, or put a fake turntable, or even a rice crispy thats a turntable.. And hey man, they're scratchin'

it's called cashing in baby....

Total Arsegoblin
12-09-2001, 02:29 PM
It's hardly cashing in, you imbecile.
It's the backing music for a freakin hardressers ad, probably made by someone local.

Who cares.

hitmonlee
12-09-2001, 02:36 PM
you're a cranky goblin today

i'm not sure but i think bonnie was referring to the use of dance music/dj images in ads

THAT is cashing in

fuckwit
I was referring (thankyou Hitmon..) to the use of dance music in their ads as cashing in...
ie. cashing in on the current popularity of dance music

Hey people it's not that bad... Personally I'd prefer to listen to something almost groovy rather than the "I feel like chicken tonight", "it's a Red Red Reddy Red Rooster", Swiffer style bollox that we usually get.
Know wo' I mean?

I think that ad is quite clever - its about presentig images of glamour and sexy exclusiveness.

Seems only fittin' that they use a d&B riff then eh?

As apposed to cheesy shite as seen on KFC add eh churchy. This ad aims at greasy bogans who wouldnt know any better. . . hmm nice one!

Grover

Apparently the new KFC ad has nustyle hardcore on it...

- all trademarks of true dick'ead behavior.

I like hot women in swish clothes with nice hair. I just wish more of the models from the collonade and maurice meade ads came to d&b events, wot!

kranky al
12-09-2001, 05:24 PM
they use d+b in ads coz people like it and as such it helps sell the product, the converse applies for dutch gabber no doubt

stew
12-09-2001, 10:24 PM
yeah, the guy who owns mauric mead - well its his son who made the music. Father & Son partnerships are not uncommon. I think the fact that the genre is drum and bass is merely incidental - his Son could have been into some tripped out gabber or some mellow rock, which could have fit the advert aswell.

I'd say that not everyone has 2 identities, but maybe a half or a quarter?
So theres probly only 3/4 of the members it says r maybe even half...
