can anyone please give me some info on asio drivers? will they improve latency on programs like buzz and soft-synths like VAZ? do they take up more CPU resources? where do i find them?
i have a soundblaster live value and a Celeron 333 with 320Mb of RAM.
i know morphix wrote some stuff before but i can't find it...

I bought some documents off an ASIO driver once and sold 'em to some Arab with a big beard and a limp

If you have an SB Live, goto http://come.to/sblive
These are hacked drivers originally made for the Emu APS. The Emu APS and Live both use the same chip, the emu10k1.
With these drivers u get ASIO on the Live running at 8ms.

those asio drivers were a bit of a bitch to get working, but they are now and they fuckin kick!!! finally buzz FEELS GOOD to use.. instead of trying to make melodies with 50 ms latency...............

is there any way to adjust the bass and treble on the master channel? so it sounds as good as the regular sblive mixer?

Nah there isnt.
I actually thought the APSLive drivers sounded better than the original Live ones.
APSLive drivers are a lot quieter though, they leave a lot more headroom.

ok one last question:
will the drivers reduce the latency for controlling actual midi gear?
