not a new tune but,,,,,
from 1988/1989, on tommy boy, first pressed as a teaser for an upcoming album with 3 tracks per side
808 State - Pacific
theres more mixes of this then you can poke a stick at, with the original 6 on 12", followed by pacific 808 on the album released in 1989 (1990 it first arrived in the and of oz), remixed by grooverider (possibly called the jeep remix, im unsure), and the melodic sax sampled in more songs across more styles then i can list, the bassline used in a few hardcore tracks, and then in 1998 "Ten Years of 808 State" brought about the Pacific 808:98 mix, and of course a whole new bunch of followers. This choon is one to go down in history, if you have not already, once you have heard it you will be hooked http://www.teknoscape.com.au/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/smile.gif

grooverider jeep remix was the edit he did of everything but the girls' 'blame' that found itself on the gran turismo 2 soundtrack. there was a shitload of remixes of that too, 2 by rider, by fabio, j-majik vip (which fucking rules).
blame vip is in my top 10 of all time!
dan mixed it on the mad for it cd, track number 3 if i can recall, dont know and clips of it online tho!

My god that Mampi LP is recycled SHITE.
Its sole intention is to get the dancefloor moving, and I can pretty much guarantee that it'll do exactly that when it gets played around Perth a little more.
To quote Swift:
"My purpose was to create something that was going to go down well on the dance-floor. That was the main thing."
If you don't like it, don't buy it... but don't put it down as being 'recycled shite'. Teebee's sound hasn't really progressed all that much, but he's on to a good thing and he sticks to his guns, and you have to respect producers who do what they want to do, not what everyone else wants them to do.
Nothing that sells well, of course. It's just coincidence that the two coincide.

I dont agree hornet, dillinja uses same beats, so does alot of other producers, Mampi has got his own sound, he dosent copy other people. Blaxplotation, Future Mainframe and Danger
are all pretty progressive for mampi.

Of course I'm not going buy it if I dont like it.
Most of the tunes on the LP feature breaks that he's used before, just slightly edited. The opening tune (I forget the name) uses a lame reece bassline that I've heard so many times it makes me ill.
Sure it's going to make a dancefloor go off, but it's disposable.
I disagree with your comment about Teebee. Go check his releases on Audio Couture from late 1998 and 1999. Completely different to what he does now. He's tamed his sound down a lot and made it a whole lot more accessable. His earlier works were more comparable to noise/panacea/possums fucking on a tin roof.
I will agree that Blaxploitation is a cool tune though.
Amenbro
12-11-2001, 09:32 PM
OHHHH
How can you get sick of the reece bassline???
Anyway yeah alot of hard stuff is diposable but I think with swift he has a very futuristic sound, such as trippin, which make his tunes playable for some time.
I used to not like swift stuff only "The One" but then his later stuff came out over the last 2 years, had hard techno influenced beats and tearin basslines, I was converted.

iiO- "rapture" (remixes)
John Creamer & Stephanie K are churning out countless class remixes at the mo... watch their space.. dont particularly fucking love it like almost everyone involved in the UK House scene though: 7/10
and for the Hard House heads out there-
Miss Shiva has released ANOTHER milking of Quench's original masterpiece- "Dreams", appropriately named "Dreams 2001" by Miss Shiva. Humate Remix with dj support gives it a harder and cutting edge as opposed to her 2000 re-mix, bang, bang, BANGing Hard House: 6.50/10
The best ting I've heard
Shy FX - Shake IT.
anyone who hasn't heard it will hear it soon. I got an ANDy C set from November 2nd (less than 2 weeks ago) and GQ knows what hes talkin about when he says its gonna be massive, It got rewound twice.

son of ugly - freak (vocal mix)
future cut - stealth (dillinja rmx) [ghetto style ep]
l double - ding dong bass just for the bassline
moving fusion - atlantis 2001
ez rollers - rs2000 (vocal mix)
krust & Miss Kia - funky grooves
bad company - planet dust (rmx)

Atlantis 2001 is actually the Bad Company remix.
There is no remix of Planet Dust.
Oh well there kinda is, but it's not a remix as such. It's the same tune with a pitch bend in the bassline. The 'official' name for it is the "German Cab ride Edit". http://www.teknoscape.com.au/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/tounge.gif
Fresh was in a cab with some crazy German driver and changed the bassline while he was being driven around at 200kmh.

Clarky played 'Shake It' at After Forever.
Dark is good, as in anything in moderation.
Tunes for me this week :
Moving Fusion : Thunderball / Lazybones (RAM)
The Invaderz : Wintersun / Control My Mind (Metalheadz)
Abstract : Formulas / Binary (Subtitles)
That "thunderball" by moving fusion on ram is pretty rollin, though only a 8/10 for me im afraid..despite it being shit hot off the shelves here.
Anyone heard Bad Companys newie? Its an LP..

I found out what that awesome tune on the Digital 2001 video is (in the first segment with Shimon).
A very nice person hooked me up with the full track in realaudio format (not the best quality, but you can still hear the track well enough).
The tune is Rascal and Klone - Galactic Jam (on Urban Takeover Records - URBTAKE030) (http://members.iinet.net.au/~wilcox1/rascal_and_klone-galactic_jam_(urbtake030).ram)
Apparently it's still on TP.
I didn't go to The Next Level with Mickey Finn, but I'd hazard a guess and say that it probably got played there.

That Jill Scott tune is a bootleg.
The first one came out as a smooth funky tune, no artist name, no cat number.
The one with the love heart on one side and the marijuana leaf on the other with 'legalise' on the flip is actually by 2 dutch guys, Dreazz and Falcon. Once again it's a bootleg.
The third installment came out on Back 2 Basics and is a very shit tune.

My tune of the week is a bit of UK garage by Daniel Bedingfield called 'Gotta Get Through This’. This unsigned artist sparked a bidding war and was eventually signed for £400,000 by Relentless. This tune, which was made in his bedroom on a computer with a microphone, was huge in Ayia Napa and is now a UK No.1. Apart the ‘D’N’D Full Length Version’ there is also the impressive housey ‘Stella Browne Vocal Mix’.

sorry lads- i didnt find Hybrids re-work anywhere near as good as the original 12" or the Pyramid Remix, and as for the satashi tomiie re-work...it sounded a hell of a lot better when I heard Digweed drop it up in Glasgow- when I bought it for myself its the type of tune that you would play in an essential mix or something- taking you on a journey....
as for that "we're gonna get through this" out on Relentless- IT ROCKS. me loves a wee bit of UK Garage, and this is up there with other anthems such as "we're lovin it, lovin it, lovin it" - class. I like the fact that the Brits are pushing the limits of the Garage scene and that they have their own genre:
i.e. UK GARAGE is the Go in Britain
US LOVE their RnB & Hip-Hop
AUS are starting to come out with some decent DnB producers
My fave tune at the moment is the last tune on this moveing shadow compilation which I'd never really listened too before. Its called Imagination by Dom & Roland and it rocks something chronic. Hard and dark as fuck bassline and an awesome breakdown filled with eerie voices and samples. Top quality jungle.

Quirk - Tribodelic - an absolute dancefloor destroyer, i cant believe i havent heard it at a club yet
Chris Organic & Prisoners Of The Sun - Single child syndrome
Ticon - Input, OUtput, Kaput - This one is actually a couple of years old but is awesome, a real warm and hypnotic track with lots of groove, probably more addictive than crack, i cant stop listening to it
Blackwatch - Foreshadow
Oko Tek - Luminous (Phantom mix)
SRange - 2001

Nice set the other night by Elhornet, pity I couldn't stay for the whole thing as I had work in the morning.
The track he opened with is definitely cutting it for me at the moment: Montini Experience II - Astrosyn (Chris.su Remix).
Nice to hear LK dropped in a club environment again... Elhornet - CDJ extraordinaire! Hopefully I won't be too sick of that track by the time Brazil 2 drops.

For all lovers of all things progressive this track must:
Crystal Method - Murder (John Creamer and Stephane K remix)
I think this is their best remix to date, very deep and haunting with some great male vocals, this track absolutely grabs you and does not let go.
Also in the similar style is Pappa and Gilbey - Skin Deep, another very dark progressive tune, some some Placebo like vocals, really good lyrics as well.
