thanks john, i forgot bout that site..... love your work by the way. dunno how an old bastard like u produceed the most sasssy piece of booty on the planet but i congratulate you.
dont pull that shit on me aura, this discussion has been done to death. what am i gonna do, get a live double bass player and record them thru my pc mic?????
i cant wait - im gonna sample from one of your tunes just to piss you off bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway, you state clearly above that im taking samples from other producers and rearranging them. when i say i want a double bass for a drum n bass tune i dont mean i want to sample a double bass from a drum n bass tune. most of my samples come form old 40's jazz, 70'2 funk/disco, my epic metal cd collection, my mums reggae and disco cds and my dads 20's blues albums. im sampling, not stealing from other producers. i cant play guitar or double bass and i cant drum so how am i going to do it???????

i got my 'we hear drums' bass from a jazz cd , lots of the really old live jazz cds have some great clean double bass samples.
a friend of mine hired a heap of jazz cds from subiaco library a while back and i skipped through and nicked everything bass , rides , mad drum rolls , sax ,horns, rhodes etc... made my own jazz archive !
used some of these sounds in moments & crossroads as well.
wicked shit to listen to also for a change !

Reaktor Ensemble called "tubass" uses single hit
samples in conjunction with various filtering/pitch
shifting to reproduce a fairly decent "real" double
bass sound. Doesn't beat the real thing but in a mix
could easily fool. Does actually sound decent.

The problem is solved. Today I found an English magazine
called "Future Music" at the newsagents. The entire magazine is focussed on electronic music production. On the cover were two CDs.
The first contained files for a remix competition of a Justin
Robertson track. The second was devoted to bass samples. Electric, Synth and Double bass.
Sometimes things happen and it's just too much of a coincidence.
Go out and buy this magazine, I'm getting a subscription.
Jonathan
Hope these help you out.

nice one radium, thankzzzz. i got some nice drums from fm, the hats and rides are some of the best i have.
my dads got a bunch of blues guitar tutorial cds. i grabbed the nicest pair of drum rolls, used em in my unes fade and cross sektion. i have never heard a better tom roll sample yet.
my mum listens to a bunch of gay old crap with those guys who all sing like how james bond talks. 50's love song shit as well as an EPIC reggae collection. ive got a nifty assortment of jazzy pianos and trumpet stabs.
im actually on the lookout for some nice vocal samples to go over my tune at the moment. ive got a cool filtered 'baaabeeee' that was sampled from destinys child of all places. i want a cool line that i can loop over like in in j majik - love is not a game.
