Has anyone else noticed that big building across the road from the tax building. Is it a club? I think it is, but work has stopped on it. maybe they have ran out of money. Anyone know anything about this???

i heard rumours that the other club owners put the squeeze on the council to deny utopia a license because they knew it would take too many people from their clubs.

to add to the rumours and gossip.. i heard it was funded by a certian bikie group.. and let to raggabone to manage the music policy.. but yes.. things are at a stand still..

the good thing is.. that yeh it may not be finished soon.. but it will be finished sometime..

from what i heard the club was going to be similar to paramount..... generic top 40 in the mainroom & commercial dance in the 2nd room.. dunno if thats true or not?
and yeh burswood is building some new superclub, i also doubt that will be a provider of quality music.
clubs have to go with what the piss drinkers want, and the biggest piss drinkers would much prefer metal or commercial hardhouse over something credible.

yeah EE wont be running anything credible there at burswood. And the ppl that started up Utopia started building it without the license ( doh). As for the Raggabone/bikie thing you would have to msg me jamie.

i just recently read about a club in the uk that got around the liquor license thing. They did it by operating as a private members club. This meant it wasnt restricted by licensing laws and clubbers could bring their own booze...

i think the private members only, "BYO" nightclub is a fucken good idea!!! u just need to charge more for entry since u'd be making no money on the bar.... clubs are making upwards of 30 000 per night on the bar so go figure!!
but u could build a bottle shop next door, so the VENUE isnt licensed, but u can only bring in liquor thats purchased from the bottle-o next-door!!
