Yes, it's your chance to give your two cents on what the f** is going to happen with perth breakbeat? will it evolve further into something wonderful? will your mum start listening to it while doing her needlework? or will it run off with your mum and get married and have a kid called 'electro' and a kid called 'beat boy'?

i got it last year for about &#3640. but im not buying a new one. might just clean my room, should turn up.

i got coastal breaks 1 on tape - someone downloaded it for me from the net.

i would really like to see more inernational breakbeat dj's come to perth, but im not sure if there's the market.

delirium tried to get adam freeland for renaissance but it didn't workout. http://www.teknoscape.com.au/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

id like to see more breakbeat too but i think we have to say we were lucky enough that freq nasty came twice recently and then weve had the plump dj (lee Rous), laidback (what a champ) freestylers (although i dont think there as good as they used to be) and a few others.

Pinhead you are FUKED
what do you have against breakbeat it is the backbone of all things good.
Go listen to your Madison Avenue and Ministry CD's in your bedroom but dont turn them up to loud your mum might get offended.

breakbeat is a ridiculously outdated genre of music. I'm not into pop music but when I need some I'll give you a bell kay?

Breakbeat is so not outdated pinbrain, i think you are thinking of Big beat probably because thats all you ever heard on the radio. If you want to hear some good breakbeat go to Ambar on Saturday, maybe you will be surprised but dont knock it when yoy are obviously no well educated about it.

Rico

Midfield General are zeeeeeeeeeeeee BIZNISSSS!!!!!
Not many places to go in perth for breaks I know......but Wed nights @ Karma Sutra in the cave you can drench your senses with the phattest breaks, 2 step and D&B http://www.teknoscape.com.au/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Tis a nice chilled vibe down there. Wicked Tunes. Also, Pallas on Wednesday nights http://www.teknoscape.com.au/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Ambar on Sat nights I believe, skelly plays down there quite a bit (the man with the goods).

I for one think breakbeats are some of the most funkiest tunes i've ever heard ....!!recently caught Lee Rous at ambar it the room was flowing....laidback is another that springs to mind with some funky beats ...its good to see more types o dance coming through...Perth is has an ever expanding dance culture with in...we may vary from drum n bass to breakbeat to trance but one thing in common is we all love to get out there and dance or something of the sort.....peace

Pinhead

yay.. got a hold of a friends copy of Dope on plastic 5... the best one in my opinion. Can't get enuff. Nu skool on the other hand, I havent heard much and can't say it really interests me, cept maybe the basslines which are quite funky. anyone heard freq nasty feat. MC skibadee?
the tracks called Check It Out. not too bad but I was kinda hoping for proper MCing whereas he just does his normal jungle stuff slowed down.. pretty cool and different tho

yeh

breaks roc. hope midfeild gen iz 4 real. Ina break sense Electrik 1 & Sonic 1 were the bomb (freestyler & laidback) the best break beaters 2day.

if u can remember laidbacks awesome unadvertised performance @ geisha - rocked for >5 hrs. just afta new years

it would be awesome for some of the bolshi crew to join laidback in one of his perth visits.

or even fingalikin crew with plumps. (soul of man & lee coombs)

or even fatboy & cut la roc & the skint crew. The whole nite dediacted to breaks. this is the shit that goes down in south side london. lucky buggers.

Adam Freeland no one else comes close

hitmonlee
06-06-2001, 11:32 AM
bonkkaz: technically that was sonik 2, but i'll forgive you. i love the freestylers but i was a little disappointed with their set, it was a little too commercial cheesy house kinda breakbeat, i mean playing that groove armada song (shakin' that ass), and cutting it really badly just ruined it.

i know delirium tried to get adam freeland for rennaissance this year but didn't. thei'm hoping he'll be back around the end of the year, apparently he likes it here in summer so he can go surfing.

anyway, adam is my god. theif anyone gets him here, well they can be number two.

i saw the freesylers at sci fi and they werent anywhere near as good as they were a few years ago at sundaze (i think it was, night after 98 sci fi). Ive seen laidback a couple of times and he sure rocks, both new years he has played a small gig the week after what a champ.
