I didnt go but I did go to the last one..
What I dont get is, why did I only hear Drum and Bass after like 10:30pm or so??
I mean, atleast if you are gonna play D&B after the hip-hop has been on, get someone on that actually plays some of the Hip-Hop Jungle stylez.. you know, like DJ Krush, Dr Octagon, DJ Shadow and there are many other records out there that have hip hop ryming over d&b beatz.
I reckon this would be logical.
This time around they did mix it up before packer there were a couple of hip hop djs, packer played hip hop, then sardi played drum and bass, downside did their usual dj/mc act and then rufkut and frantik went at it. Set of the night went to packer he is the scratch king.

Scotty and Shabaz from Downsyde unfortunately couldn't make it as they are/were touring Brasil, so some friends did a big of freestyling, but it was nothing like Downsyde. I think they were a little lost for words at times as they kept asking if there was any mc's in the room http://www.teknoscape.com.au/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
I caught packers oldschool hip hop set which was a treat, sardi's set of smooth dnb and armee + mc's with some nice beats. Frantik and Ruffy went all hard, and I followed them at 3am and the room was still nicely packed.
There was no winner. It wasn't a competition http://www.teknoscape.com.au/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Great to see to scenes coming together.

I still haven't heard if anyone played Hip-Hop jungle at this event.
This would be the MOST relative style to play on the night donchreckon?

Greg's set and scratching was definitely the highlight of the night. Incredible.
Downsyde just didn’t work for me this time, I left shortly after they started.
It would have been good to see more people from the hiphop scene (like from soul city) there. As I saw a few people but not many. It would have filled the dance floor a little more maybe, as the dance floor at Soul City is always packed much like the dc after midnight.
ZD - The guys dancin' were good, but there was a guy in a "Taipan Room Staff" shirt who came and stole the show with some very acrobatic breakin’.

naaah.. wel I hope not..
Alot of the tracks of Hip-Hop Jungle I have come across on vinyl were white labes with the like of people like Eminemm, Dr Dre etc... Todd Terry Bought out a few Hip Hop Jungle tracks as did DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, also there are many tunes on the "old school Vs. New Skool" EPs (4 or 5 of them I think).
These EPs have D&B remixes of groups like Boogie Down Productions, EPMD, Fushnickens, Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers..
this is what I am talking about when It comes to playing a perfect medium at a Hip-Hop Jungle night.
Fuck mate! I'll play, I got all those tracks!
Atleast it would be more validated.

Those Eminen and bootlegs are the work of Dylan, and they SUCK. (In my humble opinion anyway...)
The Nate Dogg one was John B, and that was real nice.
I love that track the jon b & nate dog one, -oh no?
