There are a few on at Ravenstein... Beni Chill (Mad Scratcher / Breaks DJ!!!) Direct X (Hard Trance / NRG) & Lumberjack (Hard Trance & Techno)

@ only &#3614 it's worth a look to see the locals do the bizz, the rest of the bill is very strong with more experienced DJ's making up the rest of the night.

Mmm played Hydey tonight. We need more people hitting the Hydey weekly. It's starting to look like #rave, or a MFI bluelight disco.
Thursday this week I am playing at the Rosemount for ROLLER, and you know the Roller crew keep it real each and every time.
Friday at the Drum @ 1am.
Then The Next Level with badboy Mickey Finn and dreams' little secret party the same night
Then Klute, Blackout, Trace, NYE....and anything else between.

Yeah rockingham is bad, mullets are still seen out and about occasionally......but it is alot better then a few years ago. Now they play WILD cds in their VN's.

Its the first time something like this has been staged down here on a weekly basis so hopefully we can get the support and keep it going.

What is everyones definition of an up and coming DJ is different. I consider myself as up and coming as I have been playing out for three but I don't play that much and am still trying to make a name for myself. I think if you have been playing for about 2/3 years you are up and coming but if you are someone like Frantik who has been djing out for approx the same length as me he is no longer up and coming as he gets heaps of work. What are you peoples thoughts on the subject?
Oh yes I just thought I would like to say that I don't get sets just cause I am a girl. I have worked hard to promote myself and hard to become a good mixer just like all you boys so leave me alone!

Pffft, you should get more sets coz you ARE a girl. Perth needs more hot female DJs dammit!

Mystique I guess my definition of up and coming would be anyone who doesn't get regular bookings.
As far as not getting gigs because you're a girl, keep plugging at it and don't be discouraged. theLet your music do the talking. theGood luck with it!
I'm @ The Next Level on the 17th of November 10-11pm and Blackout on the 15th of December but I don't know the time yet.

up n coming
what a gay term
especially when there are so many drum and bass dj's all scrappin for as many nights as they can get. i guess the best definition i can think of is anyone without theiur own regular night, or a residency that would see them playing at a night once or twice a month. any help missy mistique?
i guess we could all just say we're good, and try to knock off all the older boys, i'm currently trying to kill of el.whore.net but i think he's gunna get to me first with those atomic farts of his. sweet jesus!

i dont think you dont get set cos your a girl mystique, i might try dressing up in womens clothing, maybe that would get me a set at connies! *shows leg*

oh and aleks, best of luck with the new night, bombard everyone with as much advertising as you can!
i dont know if there are many fans of electronic music in rockingham, i know whenever i've been down there in the last few years, they even play metallica to do bog laps, but i've heard of some parties going on down there, so push it dude, and the best of luck http://www.teknoscape.com.au/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I agree, you never got sets because you were a girl. You got sets because Greg Packer was your hubby.
