I chose not to attend until very late in the proceedings to say hello to a few ravers going off internally.
Even then I only stayed for a while and it looked pretty large I must say.

The police presence was of particular concern to me, as they searched most of my friends and were continually harrasing people outside to move along ( officer bar-brady style).

This is to be expected from the freo police who constantly have an operation "ANTI_FUN" going.
I know I have to live with these dickwits. They have been an annoying irritation from day one.

well..... what can be said? fundamental was absolutely mad raving bonkers. the crowd atmosphere was tight as, pity about the heat in the drum and bass room, but that room rocked. kaos played a kickass set as did all the boys, shouts going out to the rowdy's, goose's subtlety and the use of a can, spanker and the footy horn, and a massive cheers to dan for consistantly putting on such wicked events. it was my event for the year so far

yeah them wankers (security) have shit me from day 1, they always have to down the night by being absolute wankers. at Mad For It my mate had a whole carton in the back seat and when we went to go inside my mate (who is underage) had a last sip and put the can in front of the car, and that bald fuck came over and wouldn't let us all in unless we gave them the carton (he wouldn't let him keep it cos he said he'd come out and drink it), and even though it was sealed they took it and when we asked if we could get it in the morning they said no not even if they were overage !

Well on a lighter note, the security at Mash up were way more friendlier, (the guy who was controlling outside the front) and that mad security dude who's always e'ing off his head dancing and stuff, one was even in the ball pit at fundamental !

my one gripe would be the lack of a good dancin spot in front of the techno stage
with only about 6-8 metres b4 the spring fence thing for the maze it was hard to make it a walkway and a wicked dance floor and keep a good vibe...
the atmosphere in the DnB room was much better (IMO) due to there being a larger space for ppl to gather...
makin a rave fit in a venue not designed for it is always gonna raise difficulties i realise but next time (please let there be a next time) would it be better to have the decks over near where the tables and chairs were???

i thought the music was sic!
the sound quality was good
the ppl absolutely avin it!
good to see loads of +18 crew ( like me) there

i was expectin the ballpit to be a bit average - but i underestimated the good vibe in there and the general great feelin of havin your body supported all over, but in no 1 particular place. - good fun.

They're just doing their job, u guys hang in the wrong spots.. sure some of them are fuckwits, but theres 1 of them whooz a top bloke. he was on the door mots of the night... he's the younger one, u know who u r, nuff respekt to u if u reading this.

you guys tend not to listen to the other guys asking you to clear out the foyer, so then, the security have to be arseholes to get u out of there.. think about where u stop, think about where ur sitting or standing.. sometimes they're just being dickheads, other times, they've got the right idea.

I'd have to say, out of most of the security ppl I've seen, or experienced, this crew would have to be the best at their job, hence, MFI continue to use them.

I might rephrase that security thing. Big ups to Dom, Jamie and the other security guys who really do always play an important part in our scene. You truly have control of crowds thru one main factor - respect.

But to the two or three I watched for a good five minutes completely downgrading and threatening one raver, who wouldn't have been able to defend himself if he tried, have a think about what Dan is paying you for. I've found security to be a bit harsh at times, (purely from an observers point of view) but as one of them said on sunday morning "you try working at one of these fucking things for four hours and see how you fucking like it".
Personally I've never had any problems with them, but then again I always move on when they tell me to. Think about it guys, they're telling you to move for a reason, not because they like being pricks.

There were quite a few cops outside throughout the night. Apparently there were a few cars broken into. They were also searching a fair few people near the entrance.

A paddy wagon actually pulled up right beside me as I was getting stuff from my car. I nearly shat my pants at that point.

Didn't see any plain clothes cops though .. but I was told they were about .. and someone said there were undercovers inside (?).

The security didn't bother me at all but I could tell at least a few of them were losing patience with people.
