got a rack for the jeep - needs some paint on the rack itself and the bazookas - good for lugging tent poles around in when i go camping

time to fab up the patrol diffs and chuck them under the jeep, then another 1" of lift and 35's

Just sent an email off to a guy with a workshop in Bunbury to see if he wants to buy the skyline... he came to look at it when I was going to the dodgy wreck sell while it was still encumbered.

I said $10K firm - registered as is. I kinda hope he says yes so then I dont have to go through the process of getting it detailed and advertising it. But then... she's my baby. The amount of tears I have shed over that car... IT OWES ME. haha I was listing all the stuff on it to him and I forgot I had done so much to it..

Got any pics Sneeza? Few mates are sometimes lookin'....

The wife has decided she wants a Stagea so we are on the hunt for a decent Autech for under $35K.

Bit worried about the gas guzzling tendencies though.

I'll take some on the weekend for you.

The car has been set up for motor kahna racing and has been regularly serviced and maintained by Hyperdrive. Price is 10K Firm. It hasnt been detailed or anything.

1995 gtst-t. Series 1.5. Black. Some panel minor panel damage
It's just been serviced and has had the o2 sensor replaced. So fuel efficiency is HEAPS better.
    225000km on the clock..
    HKS FMIC
    K&N pod filter
    DBA slotted front rotors
    Ferodo DS2500 front pads
    EBC green stuff rear pads
Newish toyo T1-R tyres. All 4
    31/2" cat back zorst
    Bilstein shocks
    King springs
    whiteline sway bars
    whiteline front strut brace
(suspension all by Wilkinson - basically like the whiteline superpro kit. Set up for Motor Kahna)
    Extreme 9puck cushion button clutch
    HKS lightened flywheel
Beltronics in built radar detector - sensors are hidden under bonnet and at the back. Control Unit is set under the CD player and turbo timer. (still deciding if I am going to take this out or not).
    HKS Turbo Timer
Interior is in really good condition for a car with its kms. No rips in the seats etc
Pillar mounted Boost Guage (Type X)
    Momo gear knob
    Nismo floor mats all round.

Stagea/skyline... same engine. My car gets about 400km to a tank and thats driving up to the hills etc. Which I think is pretty good. Depends how you drive it though...driving it on boost all the time will give you around 350km to a tank. Drive it normally and you'll get heaps more.

Yeah I want to leave it FIRM because that's what I need to pay the loan off etc. It's still cheaper than any other gts-t out there. Also... the only thing wrong with it is it needs is a couple of dings hammered out and a re-spray if really wanted. Look at the fully worked r33's out there for around 13-15K that have probably been thashed to fuck, not maintained.... unless its backyard job mods. My car has been treated like a princess. It's just the fuckers with trolleys in carparks that didn't treat her nice.

    hahah GO THE DATTO!!!!

It hasnt got alot of 'go-fast' fruit on it... well it's not "go fast" until you add a powerFC or something. It's mainly handling mods and the lightened flywheel helped with MC to get some better acceleration from 1st to 2nd. She spools up pretty quick. 'woooooooohsa'

I would sort of agree with you, but I am actually secretly really wanting to hear the roar of those engines, play the cheeky tourist and try and score as much free stuff as possible.

i see retardedness as encompassing both the "race" and "those who have paid good money to see the race". it's like one giant bowl of retard soup with a dash of crap beer and a corporately sponsored bowl.

Did you see that top gear episode when they each had an american gas guzzler car and they graffii'd each others cars to see who could make it from one side of... I think it was texas.. or some other redneck state without being killed. I think Jeremy Clarkson had 'NASCAR SUCKS' on the side of his and they pulled into a petrol station and this lady comes out going 'you got nascar sucks written on your car?? What the fuck!! I'm getting the boys' Then all these rednecks come out of nowhere in their trucks chasing them down. Fucking LOL!

What do people recommend someone to buy with $30,000 if they wanted a car that needs to fit into this category

    1. Cheap on fuel
    2. New - 5 years old

    Are my basic requirements.

How big do you need it to be? 4 door? 2 door? family sedan?

Toyotas are generally good on fuel, though you might want to look at a VW golf TDI as well. Decent fuel economy, and they are fun to drive.

i considered a hybrid. the prius is junk and would fall apart with the motorway miles i do. uk has a few of the now defunct honda hybrids, again, peices of crap.
the lexus rx400 hybrid is nice, but still only returns 25mpg, figure that one out.

i bit the bullet this week and bought a new ride. 2003 525 diesel

    11k sterling

thats exactly the opposite of what they do, and the main reason i didnt buy a saab.
in 2 years time the saab i was looking at would be worth half or less
in 2 year time a beamer is worth 3/4 what you paid for it

    agree with the ugly comment!!
when the car ages the cells becoming weaker causing more strain on the motor

yeah, basically because of the crazy car finance deals you can get on new cars here, makes second hand a lot less attractive, you know the 5 yr interest free loans etc.

    yeah
but fuck owing money in the current ecomonical climate, or ever
all the car owners i know have 30k cars with 300 quid a month repayments
    frankly that terrifies me
pay 9000 for 3 years on some lease agreement then give it back or swap it for another one .. and keep paying
whereas in 3 years my ride will be worth 4 or 5 grand still

smiley : yeah i bought it off a posh farmer in cambridgeshire, he said it was ra-ther nice to drive around the villages
Farmers ALWAYS have the nice diesel estates, generally a BMW or a Mercedes, I think it has something to do with all that bulk diesel they can buy at a non-taxed rate.

I knew you would end up with a BMW good choice all the same.

Meh, I just have no possible use for a car in london, otherwise I'd think about getting one.

the lexus rx400 hybrid is nice, but still only returns 25mpg, figure that one out.

i bit the bullet this week and bought a new ride. 2003 525 diesel

    thats sexy.

If it was up to me, I would swap all the chrome for matt black pieces instead, and throw some matt black rims on. I love that effect.

if by the chrome you mean the grille, then no, that's against the law.

    ps yay bmw, boo diesel.

that said if i was in the uk i'd have a diesel too.

i think it has a lot to do with the fact you can import what you like over there?? (if you still can.)

my cousin bought a bmw maybe 2 or 3 years older than that, for 2000pounds at the end of last year.
    Insane.
Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. so love the people who treat you right, forget the ones who dont. Believe that everything happens for a reason. if you get a chance, take it. if it changes your life then let it. No one said it would be easy, they just promised itd be worth it.

you can only import a car here if its for sale here too. if they dont retail it in the uk it must be 10 years old before you can import it.

so any weird japanese cars that they dont sell retail here are outta the question until they're almost too old to bother with

european market cars are all sold here anyway so they're not imports. they're also all left hand drive so that doesnt help much :P

    Blarggggg

project 33 has been moving, all be it slowly...

bought this for it the other day tho, second hand, but still blingy as hell

1 x AP racing floor mounted pedal box, wooteth!

i ws hoping to have the damn car running by now, but shits been getting in the way, ironically there isn't much to make it happen, just pulling my finger out of my ass and screwing everything together and sorting a few trivial locally souced bits, im just being anal about a few things, like buying nearly 3k worth of intake manifold and throttle body, it doesn''t really need, but i want for that extra poothenth of response and power delivery

so until i get that im usuing it as an excuse to not stick the new motor together, trivial yes..
