lol if u want to have a car thats inflated by 20% no offence what so ever towards them, it just seems they ask way too much for imports.
    others on the list are
    J-spec
and also i heard something of the lines of Pheonix are pretty good, pretty sure they are on hardtuned.net
    and alex
    this is rather cheap

also if u were after a weekeneder u could just get a race/rally fd, someone is selling a 410hp, 10sec fd for 12k in perth

if u have any queries on fd's or rotaries in general, hit us up a pm, i have quite a bit of knowledge on both.

id think twice about a race/rally import.

its getting very hard to register them under b reg. the new rules mean the car must compete in a gravel rally once a year, hence has to be a proper rally car. And to do that you need a national rally licence, which you have to pass tests to get The only reason rally cars are registered is that they need to drive on public roads in liaison's...no other cars have a real need to get b reg, its just been an easy option.

they got fed up with people driving b reg cars every day. Although this wont change for a while.. but bad news for some ...

anyone know the fuel consumption on a 2002 FD?

next hurdle is importing, has anyone had first hand experience importing a car from J land? its a bit unnerving but Im thinking the $$ savings will be well worth it?

Default Beginners guide to cd players of '08

Hi dudes, i am thinking about upgrading the audio unit in my car, and thought i'd ask a few basic Qs on here as the last time i looked at car audio was +10yrs ago, when alberts ruled and alpine was GOD and 6cd stackers with remote control were the shizz (clearly times have changed)

I've got a stock mp3cd player deck at the mo, which i'm ok with, but i reeally want a deck where i can fast forward longer mp3s (i.e. podcasts/sets) in a cleaner way than pressing ff for a few mins, and also wanting to know if there are either dvdmp3 players or hdd mp3 players so that i don't have to change out CDrs as much.

    Qs:

    1. Do such things exist in a entry/mid level price range.
    2. what damage am i looking at?
    3. do people still break in to cars to get decks, as my car is parked 5 days a week in the open public (or have decks finally got decent enough security such thast thieves cbf)
    4. what shops should i check out to see a decent range/price/info

    cheers dudes

i bought ANOTHER car over the weekend. soon i will be sketch. so far i have:

2.4d hilux extra cab '88 for regular driving
forerunner with no engine (sketch what year is it? hahaha)

and a 2.8d hilux dual cab which i bought on the weekend. recon engine (1000km ago) that runs like a dream, but the gearbox only had 4th gear. body is quite straight except for some rust in the doors. scored it for 3grand, rego'd, and with 7 spare tyres hahaha. lots of fun driving home from quinns rocks all the way to nedlands with 4th gear only!

plus i've got some turbo bits lying around. and a fresh 5spd and transfer case courtesy of sketch as well.

so now the 2.8 is coming out of the dual cab and into the forerunner, and the turbo is going into it as well. the dual cab shell will be sold, probably to someone wanting to put a v6/v8 in it.

started pulling out the gearbox, and when we opened the drain plug, some nice juicy shards of metal fell out, they look like either broken gear teeth or a completely fucking exploded bearing, too early to tell yet until we finish getting it out (damn winter with its short daylight hours and my house with no workshop)

pics to come soon as the adventures continue. soon your former baby will be alive again sketch! i might even consider giving you custody visits hahaha.

    cool man thanks.

i already knew it was IFS, der, hahaha! but hadn't looked at the build date yet

last night after a good couple of hours juggling it with inadequate jacks, bricks, and other ad-hoc supports, we got the gearbox out of the dual cab. fuck that for a mission - its so high on hiluxes! anyone got any wizard tips for getting gearboxes in/out from high cars? the gregory's manual offers fuckall tips, tells you all the stuff to disconnect and then just says "gently pull it back while rotating anticlockwise and lower to the ground" as if it's so easy you can do it one handed hahaha. not really feasible when it weighs the best part of 100 kilos huh.

but anyway, its out, now its time to prep the forerunner engine bay ready for the engine swap!

sad to see stuff go when you don't really wanna sell it hey! even my first car which was completely driven into the ground, i was sad to offload it, so many memories. how much you get for it?

also, can you recommend anyone for getting the forerunner engineered with the engine conversion? or did you not get to the stage of talking to engineers about it?

if i owned one, it would take some time to get over that initial apprehension of whether it was going to explode at any minute. they just strike me as very fragile engines, poised to deliver you a firey death when you least expect it. by firey death, i mean either from blowing up or putting you into a wall at 100kph if you get a bit frisky with the loud pedal.

that looks very much like a pro street RX4 to me
I've always wanted to own an RX3 coupe with a guttural weber-fed bridgeport .. some day, although, probably not in lilac mica

sketch , i think the chrome moulding on the left hand side of your falcon is slightly on the piss..

edit : lol , i've had a pic of that hino (the light blue) for years, it looks alot tougher though from the side when you can see how slammed it is and how much the wheels fill out the guards.

a few of my favs :
