I believe a fear of snails is cochleaphobia. Phobias are fairly easily named, they basically utilise the greek word for the phobia (in general, but its not a completely hard or fast rule).

Snails suck. The bastards keep getting into my plants, and i cant put down snail pellets coz my kitten will eat them.

Sometimes I really think that this guy had the right idea.

heights - when i'm on a bridge/edge of a tall building or even a step ladder i freak out, think someone is going to push me over, maybe my body will just randomly decide to throw itself over the edge, a gust of wind will blow me over, etc.

yorkshire pudding - the site and smell of it freaks me out. dates back to an accident i had they had to use a specific type of dressing on the wound that reminded me of yorkshire pudding and i've been petrified of it since.

I'm scared of a lot of shit, but I have no phobias.

Fear of heights isn't a phobia, fear of heights is a perfectly natural reaction to the fact you might fall to your wet-crunching, compact death.

no heist its an irrational fear, the railing is perfectly high, i am short, i'm not going to fall over, no-one is going to push me over, the wind isn't going to blow me over, yet somehow i feel i have no control over my body and it will go over the edge anyway.

i get so scared going to the top level of myer in the city.
    and the leederville overpass.
i have to walk in the middle and look directly ahead.

heh heh, you're wrong actually - i read a news article (looking for it) last year about some young woman who was going over a freeway overpass, got hit by a freak gust of wind and got knocked over the railing ....

same! i get the feeling like im going to jump and that im not going to be able to control it
i never use to be scared of heights. its just happened in the last few years - along with me becoming very squimish and i cant think of anything that could triggered it.
