Alright. So I've been here in Melbs for two months. How the bloody hell does a person studying from home go about meeting new people?

Its only the order of the crate. You don't have to follow it. I don't find it limiting at all. I'll pick a tune that I think will go, not that is the same bpm as the last. Even when I mixed vinyl I'd pay attention to speed relative to that genre, I wouldn't know bpms. I'd much rather view what's in that tracks range personally, as a priority of crate order. My crate goes from 70 to 170 bpm or so. It pays to be aware of the possibilities not to do so I would find it limiting. I can even see what's possible at half or double tempo, very quickly. My 2c.

I do know of atheists and Buddhists that go to church purely for socialising/networking purposes. Pretty bad. But then again, you could say most of the people who go every Sunday are nothing beyond nominal anyway -- just going along with tradition or "it's good for the kids".

There's an eventist church just round the corner . Wouldn't surprise me either, this area is as backward as the Kansas State school curriculum.

A book club might be more my thing (provided there's a few for under 40s).

A part time job? I worked in a cinema while I was at uni. High turnover of staff, that were mostly students. Met loads of people through it.

Go to the park and meet strangers. Actually judging by my experience, don't.

Wish I still mixed. I often find myself thinking that some tunes would be markedly better if pitched up/down.

Recently had someone use Transdirect to courier some studio monitors from M E L B O U R N E to Perth. I think their agent over here is Allied Express, $60 was all it cost which I thought was a decent price

    That is pretty decent!

Stay away from the big name freight companies, they are expeno for private customers. Try pack n send?

    Build yourself some damned-good packaging.

After having one of her works damaged, mum builds custom cases for all her work to be transported in.

    Very basic photoshop question

I open a jpeg and resize it to A3 dimensions (420mmx297mm), I then create a new canvas at 841mmx420mm. I drag the A3 sized jpeg onto this canvas but it appears about one quarter the size it should (roughy 118mmx162mm by eye). My new canvas has a height the exact same dimension as the width of my A3 jpeg (420mm) but it appears tiny on the new canvas. WTFFF?

    Resolution mismatch.

Number of pixels per measure is different between the documents.

When they are the same, you will no longer have that problem.

Basic guideline: 72 dpi for screen, 150 dpi for line art and 300 dpi for print.

So almost finished my holiday.... is it a bit sad to say i'm looking forward to getting home ??
I'm shopped out, running out of money and the azns are doing my head in, I miss getting up and taking my own sweet time doing stuff and being in a rush all of the time coz of the 'traffic' which dictates how far we go and what time we leave the house/ leave places.
    Am i krazy ?
