Default what do you have for lunch??

ok, I hate to start another food thread, but well I am getting fed up... today is the 2nd day I threw my lunch in the bin, and well I am just absolutely lost for ideas of what I can have for lunch

I am over the usual sandwiches (ie. any meat + salad) I am over rice cakes, cruskits, suimins (noodles) etc etc

oh, and I don't really want to buy lunch, I am saving money

    any interesting and different ideas??

i usually don't eat anything for lunch, if i do it's usually a salad sandwich

    bonnie, try fruit salads
    pastas, rice

a great idea is leftover meals from the night before (ie: if you make a stir fry, make a little extra than you usually would for lunch the next day)
    soup is always good

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater but you do not murder the hate.

whenever I have leftovers I always have them, which is great, but we don't always have them

and I don't really want to eat pasta or similar foods everyday, as well that can get a bit heavy (ie.I don't want to get a bit heavy )

hmm, maybe make something in your spare time to take for lunches (potato cakes, anything that is multiple really)

also scan your supermarket aisles, there's always something there low in fat and convenient, muesli bars maybe ? breakfast bars,

this is really yummy AND very filling
yoghurt (brownes whatever you can get them in the 6 packs) and buy a packet of mixed fruits and nuts and tip them into the yoghurt, it's delicious honestly !

mmm, we do usually grab the muesli bars, I don't like the breakfast bars, and fruit... I think I need to start making meals specifically for lunch...

well i take my lunch to work most days, not everyday tho.
i keep a heap of those pasta snack tubs (you know who really loves them)in my drawer. i always buy a few when i do my food shopping on a weekend. i also buy the instant soups that are flavoured with red curry, or green curry, something like that then i buy a serve of steamed rice from the local asian eatery for $1.20, make the soup up and combine the 2 in a big bowl. very tastey and budget minded.
i might eat this sort of stuff 3 times a week and the other 2 times i would go out and buy something like a footlong from subway, or some jap or jesters, sumthin like that. hope this gives you an idea or 2.

how's the treadmill going bonnie? are you getting much use out of it?

the new heinz soup to go (tomato and basil) are real good

keep scanning the aisles, theres always something new popping up

also instead of sandwiches, use toasted bread on occasions.
for instance toast in a sandwich maker tomato and advocado, or something similar, or even just toast bread and use it as sandwiches with the usual ingredients
it isn't much different but still makes it a bit more 'exciting' if you know what i mean

    boiled eggs
carrot sticks (okay i'm getting pathetic now)

    bonnie there is nothing else

lunch is boring and always will be

what you should do is take your regular roll, and then go and buy some chips.
(i know you said you don't want to buy lunch but chips are cheap - so the saying goes anyway)

put your chips in your roll. it makes everything new and exciting.

If there was a subway close to my work I would eat it every day

umm, treadmill?? well, here's the thing... I was using it every day, twice a day, but then I got sick, and I didn't use it for the week and a half I was sick, and now I just can't start again...

I don't take notice of what I eat for lunch.. I just throw it back up again afterwards....
So it doesn't really matter what I eat for lunch, it just comes back up again, hell, it doesn't even matter what I eat at all!

as the Bulimia handbook motto quotes: "what goes down, must come up".

LOL... you're a sick and twisted individual...
~ No one has yet added up all the heavy, stress-filled workdays as well as the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of lives that are wasted to produce the world’s amusements. It is for this reason that “amusements” are not so amusing. ~

    ha ha!!

when I did my swimming, wore a suit to work, and actually gave a shit about my appearance, which was up to about a year ago, I made four tuna or ham or chicken and lettuce, tomato, olives, capsicum, onion and fat free Kraft thousand island dressing in addition to five golden delicious apples, and 5/6 mandarins.

now- I dont give a fuck about my appearance, have been voted the office clown and tramp for 12 months running, and eat 98% fat free noodles and tins of beans and spaggers on toast for lunch! Im on the cheap!!!

the first one cost me about a fiver per day for lunch, now on the cheap it cost me about a squid!

    Mushrooms with Marinated Feta

    tomatoes
    fresh asparagus
    marinated feta
    olive oil
    garlic
    lemon juice
    muchrooms (pref. large field mushrooms)
    eggs
    oregano

Basically you throw the mushies and toms in a bowl with the olive oil, feta oil (from the marinated cheese), lemon juice, garlic and some cracked pepper. Let them sit for a while, then grill them.

Chuck a poached egg on top of the mushies with the toms and asparagus and feta. Drizzle the left over marinade/oil mixture over the top. Just as good cold as warm.

I have a cook book called "Home Food" that I got from Store in Freo. It has some great stuff in it (not all of he lunch meals are very 'portable' tho.)

I have turkish bread, avocado, ham, cheese, tomato and cracked peper. I will toast it in the sandwich toaster we have at work. I usually bring my lunch to work and I always wrap my tomato in cling-film cause I hate soggy sandwiches.
