Im glad that I have a good amount of common sense. Sometimes Im also glad that I hate needles!

I don't bother watching or reading the news much so I ended up missing the surname of the lady who was killed in last week's Police pursuit. Got to work today to find out the girl who was injured and lost her mother is a student of mine, Lashay. Really lovely girl. I have no idea how she is going to muster up the strength to come to school. I hope for her sake she takes some time out. School/education will always be there...

There was an elderly woman living there who I see at the window often, so I'm just assuming it was her.

A close mate who was cleared of cancer a few months ago got his first check up results back yesterday. The cancer is back

4 tumors on his lung, 1 lymph node near his stomach and it might be back on his liver (PET scan next week to find out). Poor bastard cant catch a break. He is my age (26) with 2 children (one is 4 1/2, the other is 1 1/2). This is the 4th or 5th time it has come back. The doctors have basically told him now that he has 0% chance of ever being cancer free, and only about a 30% chance of living past 30...
He has already had his bowel removed, most of his liver removed on 2 or 3 occasions and half of his lunch removed.... There isnt much more left inside of him that can be removed!

My mum’s best friend is in her last stages of cancer. The docs told her at her appointment last week that there was nothing more they could do and sent her home with pain medication. They didn't even book her in for her next month's appointment.

She has stomach cancer, had ¾’s of her stomach removed, got better around Christmas... then got lymph cancer which has spread all over, and is now so close to her aorta that they can’t operate.

A once beautiful woman is reduced to a pile of bones.

I am trying to stay strong for mum, but I just don’t know what to say, how to not lose the plot myself... (I am very emotionally expressive and not getting upset is not one of my fortés.)

This is the third of mum’s close friends she has lost to cancer. Fuck I hate cancer.
