WARNING: Possible Spoiler...
The bit where the demons name themselves in the barn... then the last one names himself, camera goes to full face shot of Emily, her pupils go full black and start glowing... "And I am LUCIFER, the devil in the flesh"
I'm agnostic, and films like saw and wolf creek are like bambi to me, but that scene will stay with me for a long while.
By the way, Chud is Biznatch.
come on msn you poof
danny duberstein's good at two things, that's math and fuckin'
this movie scared the hell out of me but i was disappointed with the ending. personally i found the scene where the bf first sees her get into a fit is the most frightening. anyway i thought it was good they went for the courtroom drama angle so the sceptical side could exhaust all possible scientific explanations.... unlike in jap horror movies where they just jump right into it in matter-of-fact way. eg. the grudge where the cops explains to karen about the curse
the exorcist is one movie that i have problems watching. i freak out watching that scene where the girl comes down stairs on all fours backwards...even the audio for that is creepy enough![]()
has anyone seen rosemarys baby ?
no, i havent. coincidentally i have been thinking about it lately. i remember reading that polanksi actually consulted a satanist to make sure the rituals performed were as close as possible to the real ones...he should be rotting in jail for that aloneOriginally Posted by Fluteloop
yes i think he spoke to anton lavey, who actually stars in the movie as satan..
he is the founder of the church of satan california.. i know this because mum used to buy me ghost books when i was a boy and there was always stuff about him in the books. he's a really smart man, but yeh the whole satanist thing is a bit out there.
Am I the only person that found this movie boring?
sure the actress that played emily did an exceptional job, and the story is interesting, but too much court room, not enough Fear :P
lol
I get more scared playing resident evil 4 on the playstatinon
go Zombies!
Love & buy my records in buy/Sell section :P
i dont believe in the devil n shit etc. but fuck this movie makes u think "what if..." and the fact its based on a true story..?!?! I'm sure they arked up the whole devilish possessed shit but i wouldn't mind actually knowing the full story on this one without the hollywood fillers, just for peace of mind. or not.
apparantly after the original exorcist - Linda Blair, the actress had some real life episodes. freaky shit.
the night after i watched that .... i woke up at 3am to the smell of burning ...
i shat bricks.
fuck yeh who wouldnt after seeing/BEING even "close" to that shit. If the devil does exist u would be opening the door for him to come in. I reckon her movie contract must of had a few extra clauses and $$$ for her exposing herself to freaky devil shit. otherwise she got duped.Originally Posted by JaZZa
Who told you that? All i can dig up is good non scary things. http://www.montrealmirror.com/ARCHIV...200/film1.htmlOriginally Posted by JaZZa
yeah i wet n saw it in the movies on big screen with surround sound, i shat myself!
however i believe the whole scenario can be explained by a girl who had epilepsy and drug dependancy. Why was her homo bf always around? TO HOOK HER UP WITH THE GOODS! and she was just withdrawling..
coz she was so so sick the day b4 but then managed to write a 5 page letter the following day? need more facts for the caz stamp of satanic approval.
i luv it when u feel like getting cazbah
off topic but the chick from Poltergeist died after the film (rare intestinal problem) and the chick that played herolder sister in the film was strangled in the year it was released...
spooky
i can't remember someone told me that when i was a kid. maybe it was just to scare me or something. there was no interweb at that timeOriginally Posted by meffer

aww! i ALMOST got this out yesterday but we got wolf creek instead. i'm glad to hear this is scary though, as we weren't sure of its calibre.
wolf creek scared me though. i woke up at 3am and had to put the light on for a bit![]()
let them eat cake...
i saw this at the movies a while ago and my god i was so scared..i kept asking my bf if we could leave cause i had my eyes shut and my hands over my ears the whole time. i was really scared at night for a few days after. i kept waking up in the night thinking..i hope its not 3 am and i hope thats not smoke i can smell!
i think the bit where she is doing a kinda bend back thing with her eyes wide open making weird noises was the bit that freaked me out the most.
7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
hahaha holy shit yeh. that shit was wack. i dunno i get scared but i love watching scary movies - must be the rush or something lolOriginally Posted by Ruby Soho

when I watched it with my gf she couldnt handle it, and didnt watch the rest,
later on @ night around 2am ish all the power went off in the house and we were in pitch black!
I actually believe in spirits para normal etc, but I still dont think it was that scary...
I think the original exorcist was spookier, + did anyone notice the demon pic that was in some parts, its also in some parts on the old excorcist....
Love & buy my records in buy/Sell section :P
I didnt think it was very scary but thought it was a pretty good movie.
Ive been meaning to check this out, I've been going through a horror/scary/freaky shit movie renaissance lately
it looks too much like a ripoff of the exorcsit though, how different is it?
Only the Polytron reduces an entire mouse to a soup-like homogenate in 30 seconds
hmm. guess im the only o who thought it was pretty average and non-scarey.
some episodes of Supernatural have freaked me out more than Emily Rose did...

It's based on the Annalese someone or other case from Germany. She was killed during the exorcism. Wikipedia has some good links to the actual events.Originally Posted by Pierre
The Exorcist was loosely based around an actual event as well but they kept the boys identity a secret.

Yeh my brother said it is pretty scary and he is one tough ass who doesnt scare easlily and has a very warped and disturbing taste in movies.
Livings a problem cause everything dies.
I think it would effect those of us who have had a catholic or superstitious upbringing the most. Although you tend to write off those beliefs once you develop enough intellect to think for yourself and compare that stuff with dragons and fairys... there's still that ingrained bit in the back of your head from years of nuns and priests drumming it into you.
By the way, Chud is Biznatch.
That just looks wrong.Originally Posted by Scotty

ummm, i think he did a lot more than thatOriginally Posted by emotronica
i can't remember which church and all it related to but basically in researching and making the film polanski ended up in tow with many members of the occult including more legitimate types like crowley and some of the more extreme adherents as well. this was all kind of fashionable and trendy and they would come to his parties and stuff but through that link came into contact with the manson family which lead to the brutal murder of his pregnant wife sharon tate. the story goes something like that
dennis hopper once commented that the tate household got what was coming to them for dabbling in some evil shit
edit: satanism isn't necessarily about worshipping evil or killing babies - from memory neither was the film, it was more about hijacking a pregnancy to give birth to the antichrist. much satanism is about rejecting certain traditional values and following others like wicca or majick - link to wikipedia

pretty lips kiss and scar...
The Occult and Paganism are in no way related to Satanism.
Thanks for coming.
It's also nothing to do with Wicca etc.
Oh and there are no 'members of the Occult' as if it's some kind of uber evil secret group.
Research more before posting false crap as fact, thanks.
