Default Cool stuff for iPod Nano

So I got a Nano for my birthday which is the second coolest prezzie I got (Bec got me a return flight to QLD to see my Dad, awesome). I'm aware it is pretty powerful and here are some things I would like to know:

Podcasts: I've sussed these, very cool, subscribed to Nova 100 (Huesy & Kate), Dr Karl, Safran and Hack. No more Nathan and Nat shite in the mornings on the way to work. Any other cool ones you can suggest? I like talky ones, comedy, history, chat whatever

Software: Quickly discovered that iTunes is shit. Anyone got any suggestions for alternative iPod software?

Other stuff: What else can you do with them? It is a non-video nano but customising, apps and software, yknow, what else?
By the way, Chud is Biznatch.

alternatives: STAY AWAY FROM EPHPOD! its fucked. the free version of anapod does the trick but expires after a couple of weeks. handy for using at work etc.

yeah im still feeling my way around aswell...
the term they use (apple) is "subscribe".
i think you download the initial "episode" than it can be updated by doing *something* on itunes.

lot of maybes in there tho!

It's just recordings of radio/other shows that update on the iPod, for e.g. I plug my iPod into the lappy in the morning when I get up and by the time I've had my shower and got dressed it has updated it with all the radio shows I subscribe to for that day. Most are Melb too so because of the time difference, it's fresh as bread in a bakery when I play it on the way to work. Fuckn cool.

iTunes is the shit. Unless your mp3s aren't tagged properly.
In which case, SHAME ON YOU.
