Glad to hear there is a good vibe brewing for this.... Ticket sales are already strong so it looks like a it's gonna be a sell-out show...

Kaz's Carribean Kitchen will be cooking up some top quality Jamiacan grub out the back to go perfectly with the free Red Stripe everyone gets on entry... Nice.

Check The Drum and RTRFM over the coming weeks for an interview with Miles, and further details.

The last time I was at the bakery, the Jamaican caravan was situated right next to a "Cool Runnings" drink caravan. Appropriate.

They were sick at good vibes but I was a little disappointed that Miles wasn't there, is he coming this time? that chick is ass-choklate compared to miles.

I guess he is if hes being interviewed on RTR - but can anyone confirm?

    Dr Funkenstein:

Miles was at Good Vibes, and is most definitely performing at the Bakery as he IS Breakestra. Miles Tackett AKA Kid Named Miles writes most of the music, plays bass, and does some of the vocals....

Mix Master Wolf (Black guy with dreads) does the rest of the vocals, and he was absent at GV and unfortunately will not be performing in Australia again this time. For some reason he doesn't seem to tour outside of the USA.

As with the last tour, Miles will do MMW's vocals, and he does a very good job....

Choklate is a soul diva, she is in no way supposed to replace MMW, but she adds a different flavour. She is widely accalimed in the USA & UK, and is Breakestra's female voclaist of choice.

It is a little unfair to dis her, when she has only had the chance to perform on a big outdoor stage with a quiet sound system.... This show will be far more intimate, and I am sure that you and others will love it.....

On stage will be an 8 piece band:

drums, guitar, bass, cello, hammond organ, fender rhodes, percussion, two vocalists, trumpet, flute, sax.... etc

apologies, I have my lines crossed - I should check my facts before I go blabbin!
I thought mix master wolf was miles... oops

damn - most of the breakestra tracks Iv'e heard have wolf on vocals and to finally see them with live but without those raw male vocs, just don't seem the same.

    cant wait for this

No worries mate, I agree, it would be better to have MMW.... and I'm glad you mentioned it as I wanted to let everyone know before the show..... The truth is that most people wouldn't know the difference, and I didn't want to scare people off that would have a great time either way....

HOWEVER, it ain't going to make a lot of difference according to Miles and the band as they have been doing as many shows without MMW as with, and they still reckon they will rock our socks off!!

A non-hype warning to the late ticket buying people of Perth: This is selling very well... I reckon a week or so left at this rate.... There are definitely more Breakestra fans than room in The Bakery....

Check interviews with Miles Tackett Breakestra main man in The Drum, and RTRFM over the next week or so..... There are still tickets left, but they are going fast...

Yep there is still tickets left, they're flying out the door, but we are in Perth, so plenty of people are leaving
it to the last minute. Best to get in before Saturday to guarentee a spot.

djs start @ 9pm, and The Breakestra will perform between 11-12pm depending on all
    kinds of random factors....

Apologies for the lack of ticket outlets south of the river, it's a long story!

just got back from sydney where I was reading some street press mag which said mixmaster wolf was playing gonna be performing there - so he's coming all the way to oz but flagging the west, offended.

you sure ? ... i heard he has had some problems in his past that prohibit him from coming to Australia ?

super excited about this ... looking forward to the Bakery venue too

  34. #34

    Exclamation

    No need to get offended.

He is definitely not coming to Australia.

This was a mistake made by Sydney street press.

In the past shows of this nature have usually gotten
more Kudos in Perth than in Melb or Syd. We give more
love on the West Side... They love us!

So he wouldn't have skipped us even if he was coming over...

By the way, for those that are having trouble getting to Planet in Mt LAwley to
    get ticks:

Out of fairness to those who live outside of the city Door sales will still be $45.

HOWEVER, it is still a gamble in terms of how well tickets are selling so make sure you keep
in mind that once capacity is reached, that's it.

Planet is open til midnight. 93287464

Thanks for the feedback, it was a hard slog but well worth it!

The band were sensational, and hats of to Stu Mclaughlin for putting
out the best sound I've ever heard from a funk band in Perth...

The Artrage crew & The Bakery was perfect for the show...
