    Default Smokers and Dance floors!!!

WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON SMOKING ON THE DANCE FLOOR???

After being burnt for the umpteeenth time at trancemit, in the middle of a crowded dance floor, by some random gurner who thinks it's cool to light a ciggie and wave it around furiously like a glow fuken stick.

My question is Why the fuck do you people do this??~??

It's not hard to shift to the sides of the dance floor for the 2 minutes it takes to suck one back. But Nooooo instead i'll spend 10 minutes waving the bloody thing around, have two drags and burn 3 people in the process!!

For fuck sake people if ya gunna smoke in the middle of a crowded dance floor, try and keep control of the hand in which you are holding it. Don't wave it around like a retard cause one day your gunna hit someone in the eye and do some major damage, i just hope it's not me.

definitely! the majority of smokers are inconsiderate. the fact they are all headed for a horrible and painful death via smoking and its effects is well deserving!

I don't really care if people smoke and smoke in clubs dosn't really bother me in general.

It's just when some dickhead/fannyhead sticks one into your arm or back or burns a hole in your new $85 shirt, whilst trying to dance with arms flying around like a helicopter.

That's when it pisses me off.

i also nearly copped one at blood sugar by some little candy kid waving her arms in the air as if she was doing the mexican wave, luckily I was able to grab her arm just before it hit my face.

I do know several smokers who are considerate, in fact i live with one

I am a smoker, and I do realise it is a horrible habit.

But in a club, I would never go on the dancefloor with a cigarette. Thats just stupid

A recent study found that the kind of male face that a woman is attracted to can vary considerably, depending upon where she is in her menstrual cycle. It seems that if a woman is ovulating then she is more attracted to a man with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating, she is more inclined to be drawn to a man who is doused in petrol and set on fire, with scissors embedded deep in his temple and a cricket stump shoved up his .......

No could never need one that bad.

You can still enjoy the music if you stand up the back, its only 5 minutes and then you can go back.

I really don't feel like smoking when I am on the dancefloor anyway, you are already huffed and puffed, I need as much air as possible.

Maybe if dance floors weren't so crowded this wouldn't be a problem. We need bigger venues.

i'm a smoker and i fukn hate smoking on dancefloors, or smokers on dancefloors

however i admit i did light ONE up on the dance floor (towards the back however) at Trancemit on saturday, but thoughtfully cupped it in my hand. IT WAS ONLY ONE...and it was because i couldn't be arsed going out back and coming back in cos it was fukn crowded but that's the only time i've ever done it..

havent you ever heard the saying : E goes away when ING comes to stay ?? (just a quick english lesson for you )
Nothing wrong with paying 85 for a shirt if you got the cash. However the ciggy burns which may be incurred from smokers on a dance floor. WELL TAT JUS IS A BIG PROBLEM. I unfortunately smoke the cancer sticks. However i have the decency which a lot of smokers do not.

smoke free nightclubs = HAHAHA that is a funny concept.
When people drink alcohol or take drugs (like at a nightclub) they smoke more... even the people that rarely smoke will light up.

It's good that alot of places have gone smoke free, especially around eating enviroments but to ban smoking from pubs and nightclubs seriously has to be a joke.

I've never been burnt because I watch smokers who are flailing their arms with great care.

"Unco-ordinated morons should not be allowed to wield sticks of fire" - Adam Brown (I post this on every smoking thread)

Inhaling smoke all night I cannot avoid if I am at a club and it's extremely painful and frustrating. By the end of most club nights I have lost my voice for the most part Soon they'll start enforcing the no-smoking lines ie DRUM CLUB and finally clubbing will be a wholly more pleasant experience.

i reckon it won't be too long now until the clubs here enforce a policy like the american clubs where they have a section for smokers only.... and it is outdoor which is even better for yall non smokers who don't want to inhale second hand smoke / get burnt

but then again, i can only see australian clubs enforcing this when someone who is a non smoke sues a club for a smoking related illness
i think i can sum that up in two words...

you can't smoke in Canada in pubs, clubs or restaurants....

A lot of people also get an increased sex-drive when they're drunk or on drugs, but that doesn't mean they're going to make it legal to fuck in nightclubs

just because it feels good doesn't mean they should be allowed to do it

I smoke when I dance, but whenever I burn someone (rarely) they look at me then look away before I can compensate with a sincere apology.

So I think if they don't have proper communication skills then I will just continue to passively give them lung cancer until they really do have a reason to notspeak.

Anyway, smoking is a strong part of club culture - if you don't like the persons ability to smoke and dance who is next to you then that is ultimately your problem. So move.

    ROFL Smoke Free Clubs.

And its not the cigarette's fault that you get burnt, its the person holding it. Should we ban glowsticks because they might whack you in the head, or infact should we remove everyone's arms so that they can't whack u with them?

If you're dancing on the dance floor, and feel like a cigarette, then just cup it, its not that hard.

I find it hard to think of anything worse than having a smoke while enjoying a good meal!!! every smoker I have known who has given up, or even attempted to give up has commented on how much better everything tastes after not smoking for a few weeks.

What is culture? Pretty broad question, but it has to do with everything that constructs beliefs, values and attitudes that is present in society.

Smoking is a recreational pastime. So is 'clubbing'.

The connection is that along with the culture of 'clubbing' or 'raving' comes - drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, music. They are all ingredients and for as long as they stay 'legal' they will be part of the culture that constructs 'clubbing'.

Same deal with people smoking in resturants, it used to be part of the culture of "fine-dining" until it was made illegal, then the people who smoked didn't smoke at the resturant and the culture of going and smoking in a resturant died.
