what I want to know is ... how do you stop it from going brown? it can literally turn overnight. No. Bad avocado.

Ok ... now I know. Its my own fault for being lazy and not really caring that much to research it ealier.

Take some citrus, lemon or lime, juice and coat the avacado with it. The citric acid will keep it from turning brown. (Works on apples, too!)
Cover with saran wrap, as to keep it from being exposed to the air, or my favorite way, eat it.

Cling wrap/Gladwrap whatever you want to call it.
I don't worry too much about it going brown. I wrap it in cling wrap and put it in the fridge. Sometimes I cut the brown off, other times I don't worry. There is nothing wrong with it.

i can only eat avocado with something else, nachos, chicken, the list is not endless.

it's in the squeamish group of foods for me, don't like the texture but will deal with it when combined with certain other foods as long as it's not in large chunks.

same with mushrooms and egg

i think avocado suffers from everyone trying to big it up too much, it can't possibly live up to the hype.

i use olive oil on the exposed bits before wrapping in gladwrap. blocks all the air, no air, no brown.
