Subway Theme - DJ Grand Wizard Theodore & Grandmaster CazThere's only about 50 songs about graf writing. Why is that? Why isn't there an acknowledged classic graf theme besides the Artifacts joint? Maybe because the golden age of graf was over before the golden age of rap started, thanks to the buff, Koch and the MTA. (Imagine if the crackdown on sampling had started in 1987! The entire culture would have been snuffed out in infancy, on some Moses-falls-out-the-basket dolo. Bullrush the show.)
So this mix is a non-identical twin to Hevehitta's The Writers Bench, which you should peep out because he killed it. No drips. We shared tracklists so there's some overlap but like I said, there's only so many tracks.
This is The Five Elements, Part One. Destroy all lines.
Out To Tag - Serve 1 & Sue Works
Platform Rapform - The Chemist
Graff Time - Chali 2na
Out For Fame - KRS-One
Ambush in the Night - Looptroop
Tagz, Throw Ups & Pieces - Da Nuthouse (feat. El Da Sensei & Sak One)
End To End Burners - Company Flow
Wholecar - Roger Rekless
Slow Burna - Akrobatik
Getting Up Anthem: Part 1 - Talib Kweli (feat. Rakim)
Wrong Side Of Da Tracks - Artifacts
4 My Writers - MC Juice
Got The Fever (Lewis Parker Remix) - Meyhem Lauren
Graff Life - Literates
Bombing (Snippet) - L.I.F.E.long & Shamalex
The Escapades of Futura 2000 - Futura 2000 & The Clash
Pump Me Up (All City Mix) - Trouble Funk
Telemundo (Bombing Theme) - El-P

'Excuse me, while i punch myself in the eye."
ha, you rock dude! pretty damn neat for working in darkness
whats the street art/graff scene like in amsterdam? i never really see alot of pics from there..
haha awesome
amsterdam/berlin is covered in graff, there practically is no buff, and the feeling i get from the locals is they could care less, i painted a busy alleyway at night (whilst being rather drunk) a good 30 people walked past and not a peep out of them, just pretended i didnt exist. the only bad thing is 80% of the graff is very average.
anyways im at the airport in paris, time to go paint something.
'Excuse me, while i punch myself in the eye."
Got arrested in Paris for painting trains. Haha
Whoops sorry mr officer I didn't know it was illegal

Graffiti has long decorated the urban landscape, but it has new adversaries in the figures of self-appointed anti-graffiti vigilantes. These lone individuals are dedicated to keeping the environment free of all street art, posters, tags and graffiti.
Their own activities may not be part of the solution they imagine, as these vigilantes slop grey paint over luminescent art, rip-down posters, tear down stickers and worse.
Following these wannabe guardians of urban space, verite documentarians Max Good and Nathan Wollman examine all aspects of street art, and – via interviews from numerous artists and others – they overtly and covertly explore not just the visual contributions that it gives to cities but the various ways in which we all engage with the urban environment. What’s at stake may be nothing less than the right to free expression.
Director Good never preaches, even though his views are apparent, but lets his subjects – even those he clearly disapproves of – speak for themselves. Taking his pace and energy from the speed of the street, what follows is a surprising and rapid-fire exploration of the need for creative freedom.

so i drove out to nara dreamland today, its been abandoned for 6 years, i went for the purpose of painting a hannya and getting some good photos, walked straight up to the front entrance. then there was a tunnel that leads into the park that has been completely barracaded up with wood and barbwire, after about ten mins of comtemplating how im gonna do it, i managed to climb over. soon as i got over i hid my paint, and thought i would scope the place out. soon as i walked in i saw in the corner of my eye someone on a bike coming my way, so i ran over to a corner, opened my bag got my camera out and pretended to take photos. sure enough a guy rocks up on scooter yelling in japanese at me saying i cant be here i need to leave. after a brief conversation the confused guard said i need to leave as he is calling the police and i will be arrested. i told a friend of mine in japan and aparently a few weeks ago a large group of people went and got arrested so they are cracking down on it. so looks like im trying again at 5am.
