    venables surely has to go

i really think he's lost the plot

just looking at his team selection/formation makes me cringe

and i don't even support leeds

villa found some goalscoring form to go with our excellent defensive record this season, though i can see us battling to stay in the top half of the table all season
So your dad, he got girlfriend?

yeh it has been pretty shocking...but with the injuries he's had, what else can he do? my only suggestion is bring Batty back.

venables took over at a pretty shit time..... has no money and a lot of injuries..

he hasn't done the bset job so far.. but give him time with his new club!

blame ridsdale i rekkon, he let o'leary blow all the clubs money (ultimately its his decision, as oleary said). i'm with this dude:

Time for Ridsdale to pack his lunchbox, take Tel by the hand and leave Elland Road. The truth is quite simple - Ridsdale never handled O'Leary correctly. He allowed him to spend excessively on the back of Champions League qualification. When he saw the money a run in this competition could generate, he got a bit greedy.
He took his eye off O'Leary, who by now had been seduced by the media spotlight and his own blarney, and things started to go wrong. O'Leary's book was probably the most ill-timed of any manager's. It definitely had an impact on morale. Ridsdale should not have allowed this to happen.

He then sacked a successful manager, and replaced him with a media-darling rather than someone who could achieve things. To say O'Leary failed is to admit that Ridsdale himself failed. O'Leary was not sacked due to poor results, but rather poor man-management. Ridsdale's man-management.

Ridsdale has also alienated Bowyer, and now Leeds will lose him for nothing, a further disaster. Basically, it's a potential ten million quid down the drain. Money they could have got for him, money they need to find to replace him.

    bring oleary back

Hahaha, come on you Spurs! No shit Venables is crap and he's a theif too! That's why we gave him the boot.

Tottenham looked alot better than the last few games, the back 5 look like they could form a strong partnership. Look at the strenghth they have with King and Richards in the middle (Both potential England defenders) Bunjevcevic alongside them, plus Carr & Zeiga down the flanks will blitz the opposition. This is the first time this season spurs have had their full defence in and it definitely showed.

i don't think O'Leary wasted that money...fair enuff some of it went on fringe players, but he also signed the likes of Ferdinand, Fowler, Viduka, Matteo, Dacourt...without signing these players Leeds wouldn't of achieved half of what they did under O'Leary...ie. champions league quarter finals, respectable league positions etc.

yeh i'm ASIAN played football, and as i remember i was picked in better teams than u by 2 different coaches.... daniel kerr is asian and he's one of the AFL's best players...

i wasnt commenting on how they played, or venables management on the field... but i know what happens OFF the field from which you find out from what you read, which were what my comments were about....

i been supporting liverpool for longer than that, but i dont care that much... its only in england, and i've never been there etc, like to see them win though.

off field problems and injuries havent' helped leeds recently.

wait till he's got a full strength squad etc and see.. he's only been there 6 months! u kno they've got a good squad at full strength, and that venables is a decent manager (unless his reputations preceded him.. dont really know much about the guy).

    so wait and see!

WHOO HOO ! Finally ! 3 Points ... watched the 2nd half of da game yesterday ... was well impress with king ! he read the game well and tackled beautifully , and when needed carr was there to clear things up!

hmmm .. cant say much bout leeds .. will leave the bickering 2 their own fans .. hehe ... pretty shit bout the number of injuries though ... spurs had their fair share ...

dats y i though the highlight of the match was being able to take Anderton and and putting on Redknapp !!! its bout time spurs had some real depth !!

hopefully the players will keep focus against birmingham next week and its nother 3 points in the bag !!

    UP THE SPURS!

hey this may be a stupid question, but is James Beattie english??? cause if he is, i think he must be close for a call up, not just cause he had a hand in beating Arsenal on the weekend (bastard) but he has played pretty well all year

    yes Beattie is English.

i don't reckon he's good enough for England, not for a while yet anyway. he does this every season, he'll go through a rich vein of form for a month or so, then struggle and everyone will forget about him until next season when he does it again. fair enough he has around 9 or 10 goals this season, but i'd be surprised if he makes it twenty by the season is over.

haha, bring it on.. i'm up for that.

venables is a joke, should be sacked straight away, i thought o'leary did a really good job who made some quality signings, i remember back to around 1995 when leeds were one of the most boring teams in england, he turned that around into them being a exciting outfit.

as for newcastle, i'd like to see some big signings.. maybe robsons got limited funds but i would have liked to have seen more players come in at the end of last season. we should be buying like we deserve to be in the top 4 each year.

/me pictures bojangles turning up but feeling too intrigued by some topical issue and preferring to write his thoughts down in the form of an essay, on a notepad sitting under a tree next to the field.

Fuck off Timbo... that ones getting old

I don't mind organising it, maybe for next week say Wednesday or Thursday night... everyones thoughts on a time and place where we can play?

Then once we've worked that out I'll set up a thread to organise teams / getting people down there. Hey I think Kev Energy, Sharkey & Glazby will still be here then so maybe they'll come down and play. I know Sharkey used to play football, so I recon he would definitely be up for it. Come on let's get this ball rolling.

Ashley cole now been charged by Paul Durkin for abusive language, its becoming beyond a joke, i despise durkin, but all ref's are becoming the same, trying to get there name on the headline amongst the players, they seem determined to suspend every Arsenal player, useless tards. How come i never once saw roy keane get done for abusive language and he use to yell every extremity in the book at ref's, it happens every game , yet only Arsenal seems to cop the charges, were already not going to have sol campbell and veira for the man utd match, now cause of durkin we probally lose ashley cole, its a joke

we need somewhere with nets in the goals, without nets it sucks.. i'll put my name down then and i don't mind who i play with.. although maybe the 2 newcastle fans (me and fbl) should be one the same team ?

yes i'm definitely up for this freestyle...only problem is finding goals/nets considering it's no longer soccer season, you'll be hard pressed to find a pitch anywhere that still has the goals up...let alone nets...

there's a reasonably good condition pitch over here at Curtin University. Don't have to book or pay anything to play ... though there are always players around on Fridays, Sats and Sundays (mite have to be there earlier then). Goal posts but no nets ...

i know spearwood dalmatinacs have a ground which has nets up all the time, it's got trees/ hedge around the field so the ball won't go far either.. it's just the trouble of travel for people.. as it's around 10/ 15 minutes from fremantle.

from www.arsenal.com - frank stubbs diary

"Mr. Durkin is one of the Premiership's most experienced officials. I find it extremely frustrating and worrying however, that he continues to make decisions that in my opinion, almost defy belief!

TV evidence had proved once again that it is debatable if Sol's challenge was even a foul. We were located at the opposite end of the ground to the incident and even from there it looked like a shoulder to shoulder situation.

The two biggest decisions a referee has to make in any game are a sending off and a penalty. Why? They are decisions that more often than not determine the result of a match. With this in mind it is essential that a referee is absolutely 100% sure before he makes a decision.

TV pundits and fans alike still cannot agree if the challenge should have been given as a foul, this after countless replays from a number of angles. From fully 40 yards away however, Mr Durkin was not only 100% sure that the 'challenge' warranted a penalty but, as us Gooners have become used to down the years (Petit against Villa & Gio against Liverpool spring to mind !), he gave all us fans the impression that he simply couldn't wait to pull out his red card"

    couldn't agree more

haha!! venables seems rather confused...wilcox would have been the first player to be sold if i was their manager, let alone play him up front!!

but on a more positive note, another good win for arsenal...4 points clear!! and Henry in irrisistable form...bring on United and Valencia!
