Milner and Rooney are nothing short of what English football is in dire need of... YOUNG HOME GROWN TALENT instead of importing players from mainland Europe and Africa. England WILL win WC 2006, with or without the poetic justice element! (WC 2006 was sposed to be ours but money was passed under the table so the Germans got it!) Another win to Saints, another win to Glory. How goodz that? Bring on the Spurs!

yer i think these new transfer rules are great - without them i guarantee the likes of Rooney and Milner would still be kicking their heels in the youth teams, and wouldn't have been given a chance to proove their stuff. also the likes of Carlton Cole @ Chelsea etc. all these great young players coming thru, along with Jenas etc @ Newcastle show that English football, and the national team, are gonna be an even bigger power in the future

wot a week its been , spurs getting thrashed, newcastle getting knocked out of f.a cup along with everton , liverpool sliding down the ladder ....leeds looking like top four contenders .....alls going well

its venables 60th birthday today , happy birthday Terry

On a light hearted note, Terry's stars for the month ahead could prove good news for United fans too..

    Capricorn:

"The world is opening up for you, dear Capricorn, and you will see evidence of this the moment the New Year begins. (That win over Birmingham!) A positive, friendly new moon on January 2 will clear the road ahead and you couldn't be happier (United win in the FA Cup!). Suddenly, everything you've been dreaming about seems possible, (Champions League chase is back on?) and you sense you are gaining control over your life, at long last. You are gearing up to seize the reigns, but things aren't 100% ready yet ("..we can still improve" - TV). You will have to be a little patient for certain planets to catch up. Mercury, the planet of communication, travel, and commerce will retrograde in Capricorn from January 2-22 (Can't get hold of Barcelona before transfer deadline!). Things will proceed much more slowly than you might like (Those transfer deals may hit a snag). Don't let that concern you; this time, delays are actually going to work in your favor (we get players in for less than expected and can afford to pay Rivaldo's wages as a result!).---->taken from leeds website

newcastle are too inconsistent to really be treated seriously, and thats a shame. we don't have a strong squad either. . i'm pretty happy we're in the top 4 at the moment though.

getting knocked out of the fa cup at this stage is pretty wack. no fa cup final party then.

then u woke up and realised it was all a dream, and leeds were still in the bottom half of the table, and the only time they will be going to europe next season is on the end of year trip..

As far as I'[m fuckin' concerned, the less that wanker spews from his gob the better after his comments in 98. I didn't know what to think when Hod took charge of Saints but I knew deep in my mind that he would take half of the squad (like what Stracan did too) when he left. Still, I have a lot more respect for Spurs than most London clubs. Fuck those racist Chelsea bastards! UP THE SAINTS !!!

nahh.. not at all.. zola at 36 is still one of the premier strikers in the league... easily has in top three skilled men in the league.. just lacks the fitness due to his age.....

on fire at start of the season, calmed down a bit now but thats understandable... hes an old bastard.... along with the black pearl and gudjohnsen they are the only genuine threat to arsenal.....

the title is between 3 in my opinion

Arsenal - c'mon lads lets go for the treble
    Man Utd
Newcastle (have a game in hand, if they keep consistent they could be challenging)

ahahahahahahah that is soooooooooooooo funny, if newcastle offered bellamy or shearer for zola they would snap not just there arm off but half there torso aswell.
Bellamy shearer is the best attacking force in the premiership.
better then shearer ahahaha yeh thats been shown by his performances this year as hes being tipped to be voted in the uefa team of the season.

i reckon sven goran eriksson would give his left testicle for shearer out of retirement and play for England again, credit where credits due, Shearer has been good this year, and i'm not even a jordie

nahh.. chelsea and or any other team wouldnt even think of it... zola, jimmy floyd and gudjohnsen.. second most potent strike force to arsenal, plus the best defence in the league + the best goalie in the league, cudicini -- the master... why change a winning combination...

hehe .. rights credit dues when credits due ... shearer is class ...

but bellamy better than zola ? please dont let your affiliations or your dreams delude you ... bellamy has speed ... zola doesnt have speed but he has everything else .. the vision .. the touch .. and most importantly a bloody quick and adaptive footballing mind ...

bellamy will never come close to what zola has achieved ...

perhaps he wont achieve what zola has but at the moment he is a much better play, ive watched zola the last few weeks and every defender has him sussed kick him early on and hes pants the whole game, used to be great now hes just old.
and bellamy may reach the pinnacles like zola did hes only 22 and has his whole career in front of him.

Zola had his best two seasons with Parma 93-95, alas I think he is just turning up for his pension now.

Still an excellent player but I don't think I would pick him as one of the better players in the league.

As for Bellamy he is quite handy but he seems to be a bit too aggressive probably picked that up from old Allan, but the toon strike force is mighty.

Alas they aint as good at falling over as the Man United frontline, and well neither Man United, Newcastle or Chelsea have the Gaelic flair upfront like Arsenal.

Still makes for good football though and if its good football on the pitch it means its great to watch.

wot about 97' at chelsea.. zola and vialli fukn unstoppable!!!!... this year rocketed to 9 goals way ahead of the rest and then admittably died in the ass.. but he still is dead ball specialist and still makes decent crosses and strikes... theres talk of another year.. i wouldnt be suprised or disappointed... even if he only plays 20-30mins a game....

If you mean his first season for Chelsea 96/97 when he scored about 8 goals.

It wasn't too bad I mean he had a handy team around him that worked well.

They managed to score the FA Cup with the fastest goal in its history. But he still only scored 8 goals. Yes his buildup play is exeptional and I teach "the zola shuffle" when I am coaching. So he will go down in history but I still think he is only good in patches his best years are behind him and if he stays on at Chelsea earning X amount of pounds per week it is only highlighting the fact that the team is a team of hasbeens that are getting paid far too much and the club should go bankrupt sooner rather than later under its current management.

But thats another thing all together.

zola shuffle ? is that the one he drops right shoulder .. fakes right .. drops left shoulder fakes left .. then taps ball with outside right foot away from defender and sweeps a right foot curler into the top left corner of the goal ? hehe ...

yeah ... have to say i agree with u guys ... he is certainly past his best ... but obviously useful to have in your team ... his work rate for someone at 36 is excellent .. much like shearer, though both players have different approaches, shearer a classic CF , zola the "inthehole" playa ...

... both much better than f@cking sheringham right now ...

    ahahaha ... hows that ?!?!

nah mate .. sheringham is (was) class ... arguably one of the most intelligent players in england .. just that, he now lets his emotions and passion get the better of him .. prolly wants to do his best and play more but can't accept the fact his body cant take it anymore ...

my god, what a stupid and unintelligent statement.

as Destiny said, Sheringham is one of the most intelligent footballers in England, even at his ripe old age of 37.

he's not simply a striker but a great creator and reader of the game.

if i was Sven sheringham would, even now, still be in my England squad.
