Some guy had posted that on a Liverpool fans forum.

If I don't get round to writing my predictions for the weekend tomorrow, as it is my b'day, I'll make one prediction, perhaps the most important.

Rangers to steal the points at Parkhead 2-1, Hartson to score for Celtic and Lovenkrands and Ferguson for Rangers. Hopefully the winner is somewhere between the 90th and 95th minute, favouring the latter.

I know this is an English football thread, but that's a bit discriminatory, especially given the fact that everyone knows that over the years, Scotland have produced the best British players

New loan striker Rob Hulse made a dream start for Leeds with two stunning goals as Kevin Blackwell's side swept aside promotion-chasing Reading 3-1 at Elland Road.

The West Brom forward, drafted in from Premiership strugglers West Brom until the end of the season, buried two spectacular right-foot shots early in the second half.

His debut double all but secured the points for Leeds, who had taken a first-half lead through the impressive David Healy nine minutes before the interval.

The Northern Ireland international raced onto Aaron Lennon's through ball in the 36th minute and showed fine control and poise to finish with a right-foot shot wide of Marcus Hahnemann and inside the far post.

Leeds boss Blackwell had resisted the temptation of tinkering with his preferred 4-3-3 formation following Hulse's arrival.

It was thought the former Crewe target man would partner Healy at the sharp end of a 4-4-2, but the latter was asked to continue in a wide role, with Lennon on the other flank and Hulse down the middle.

On-loan Blackburn left-back Michael Gray was making his home debut following his man-of-the-match display in last week's win at Burnley, while match-winner at Turf Moor, Gylfi Einarsson, was making his third start.

Reading boss Steve Coppell stuck with the same side held to a goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium last week by Plymouth.

Reading were first to threaten, Nicky Forster giving the Leeds' rearguard the slip straight from a throw-in, but he dragged his shot across the face of goal and wide of Neil Sullivan's right-hand post.

England Under-21 international Steve Sidwell let fly with a right-foot shot from 30 yards that flew wide, while at the other end Healy also pulled his effort from the edge of the area off target.

Lennon's left-footer after cutting into the box was easily collected by Hahnemann, before new signing Hulse almost broke the deadlock.

The 25-year-old showed his worth by outjumping the visiting defence to meet Gary Kelly's fine cross and power a goalbound header towards the top corner, but Hahnemann tipped the ball onto the crossbar at full stretch.

Ivar Ingimarsson headed just over from one of several Reading corners and in an even contest Einarsson headed tamely wide from Healy's cross.

Lennon then wasted a golden chance following Ingimarsson's gaffe on the edge of the box, the teenager let down by a poor first touch and Hahnemann raced out to gather.

But Healy raised the roof when he showed top-class control to fire Leeds ahead.

The former Preston striker showed strength and poise to collect Lennon's through ball, hold off two lunging challenges and plant the ball beyond Hahnemann in the 36th minute to put Leeds in front.

Hulse spurned a chance to put Leeds 2-0 up straight after the restart, lifting the ball over Hahnemann when well-placed in the area.

Reading veteran Les Ferdinand failed to keep the ball down after being played in by Glen Little as Reading chased an early leveller.

But then the moment all of Elland Road had been waiting for.

Sean Gregan sprayed the ball out wide for new boy Hulse and his fortuitous first touch was gathered at pace by Healy.

Healy's ball into the box was knocked down by Jermaine Wright for the loan striker, who had cut back inside, and he planted a right-foot shot from the edge of the area into the top corner.

Long-suffering Leeds fans went wild, but it got even better.

Healy played a delightful pass with the outside of his foot from a clearance first time for the marauding Hulse and although he had plenty to do with defenders quickly closing in, he unleashed a right-foot rocket from 25 yards that left Hahnemann with no chance.

Blackwell replaced him with Michael Ricketts soon after, presumably because he is not yet match fit, but Hulse got a standing ovation, as did Lennon moments later as he made way for Frazer Richardson.

Ricketts went close to making it four, but he curled a left-foot effort just over after bustling through into striking range.

Reading substitute Lloyd Owusu flicked home a late consolation for Coppell's side, but the day belonged to Leeds - and Hulse in particular.

Anyways a decent result against Everton in the FA Cup now bring on Milan on Wednesday.

I only wish I didn't have to watch games on ESPN - bloody american commentary - they haven't a clue about football and spend most of the match discussing off the field issues eg Rooney's return to Goodison Pak

    well well well

chelsea slip up again, wayne bridge broken ankle, still no robben, yes they rested alot of players, brings the question, is the title rapped up or not. Going to be interesting.

As for my team, a dodgy sending off of Bergkamp changed the game, debatable penalty brings the draw. Arsenal 1 Sheffield Utd 1. I think we will beat them in the replay, are congested games schedule the main reasoning point.

Sheffield United seem to love the FA Cup, especially when it comes to playing Arsenal and scaring the life out of them. Two seasons ago with Seaman making that incredible save was the only difference between the two sides, as was a refereeing decision in disallowing a goal by Utd this season, although they still have the replay at Bramall Lane.

It's a shame Chelsea lost as I was hoping we could end their dream of four when we play them in the Carling Cup on Sunday.

The difference in class between United and Milan was evident last night just from the way Milan were able to absorb pressure, realising United would have good spells in the game, then to counter-punch when they sensed that they themselves were enjoying a good spell. Tactically, Milan were the better team last night.

Very strange also that Fergie subbed Ronaldo for Van Nistelrooy, when a goal was needed. Personally I would have subbed maybe Gary Neville for Van Nistelrooy and operated with three at the back, and brought Smith on for Fortune, giving him licence to push up.

Also, being a keeper myself, it gets tiresome when people hack onto keeping errors and magnify them, including the potential fortune it may cost he club, as a lot of people did with Carroll's error last night. Very poor keeping to not hold the shot, but also very poor teamwork in allowing the shot and also the follow up by Crespo.

The same occurred in our game against Leverkusen, yet two players couldn't keep Franca from scoring the rebound. Oh well, at least the result was more than satisfactory for the Reds, we just have to get the first in a fortnight's time at the BayArena.

It could have been so different if we'd put our chances away in the first half.
Still United are capable of going away to Milan and getting the victory. Remember Juventus

Anything in the Champions League is possible due to the sheer quality every side possesses, added to that that the margin for error balance precariously on a knife's edge, or in United's case the other night against Milan, a failure to hit the target by Scholes and Fortune or a botched Carrol save.

Personally though I don't see United nicking it in Milan for reasons I mentioned in my other post about the two teams, one being that Milan are a technically better side able to control and dictate the flow of the game better than United. Given that United must score, Milan is in the envious position of being able to convert United's strength of speed into a weakness by sitting deep and counter-attacking.

dont know if any1 is lucky enough over here , but if you have sky and feel like taping a show called britiains toughest pubs, because this week instead of going showing a pub they will be following the fans from leeds( from to leeds , to pub in millwall to the ground and inside) and millwall as we play each other on sunday (theres bound to be some trouble , as there was at ER) and i would like to see this . BUT IF YOUR IN ENGLAND or perth and have sky then pls tape this for me when its on.

It puzzles me how people are like moths to a light when it comes to violence.

I think to some degree a dangerous element adds to a game, however one such as Milwall and Leeds seems a bit stupid to me, as it's as if the fans are fighting for the sake of fighting. Supporting Rangers in the Old Firm clashes, I enjoy the tension as it adds to the game and there is a rivalry steeped in tradition, but I wouldn't ever be involved in physical violence for the sake of a derby game etc, and i can't see why it's a medal of honour to be labelled 'ard and mean like Leeds and Millwall fans are.

believe it or not but this thing has gone on ever since football started . my old boss was rite into it (he's england/leeds) in the 80's and doesnt do it really mcuh anymore, but ive herd some great stories and also this is pretty much a thing were if your playing the team then its war but outside that your mates, its jsut a culture , we had 50 to 100 of manchester firm come into my old pub one day and my boss was happily talking to them even though hes leeds and known most of them from when leeds beat the shit out of them at ueston train station in the early nineties , funny thing was , one manc fan is still on crutches from that day (not funny really , but he made the choise) , my best mate over there is also millwall , has a millwall tat on on arm and a england on the other, yes he is a nutter but he gets one with my boss so well just becos there into the same thing , there aint nowt hard feeling , but im sure they wont be speaking to each other on sunday . and im sure i wont be phoning him up if leeds win .

personally this stuff is out of my depth , i can wind em up and have a good laugh but im not gonna get myself in the middle of it all . tis just thier culture that they were bought up in ,

    Palace ban United's Cantona masks

Manchester United have been warned that any fans wearing Eric Cantona masks at Selhurst Park on Saturday will be ejected.
It is a decade since Cantona launched the infamous kung-fu kick at Crystal Palace fan Matthew Simmons that saw the Frenchman landed with an eight month suspension and threatened with a prison sentence.

A section of the Red Devils support have designated Saturday's encounter with Palace as 'Cantona day' and threatened to wear the masks in honour of their hero.

However, in a statement, Palace have confirmed that: 'Any supporter visiting Selhurst Park on Saturday will not gain admission to the stadium or will be ejected from the ground if they are in possession of any kind of face mask.'

    How funny would that be

Anyone watch Chelsea - Barcelona last night?? It was one of the best games of football I have ever seen. Chelsea are lucky to have a goalie like Cech, he kept them in the game with some amazing saves last night. Also the second goal from Ronaldinho, just phenomenal.

Don't think so, however if the games that Chelsea are involved in are as exciting as the one on Tuesday, I will be sure to watch more of them.

What's everyone's opinion on the fact that Chelsea and Liverpool, two clubs that weren't Champions in their own respective leagues, have progressed further than Utd and Arsenal in the Champions League??

As a Liverpool fan it was great seeing the result last night, but to me the Champions League is a farce in the fact that some of the clubs weren't champions yet they profit from hefty marketing and sponsorship.

Perhaps only the title winner of each European league should play in the competition as was previously the case, although that would severely undermine various clubs' profit margins and we couldn't try and close the gap between glamour clubs and poorer clubs now could we?

As for the results I was surprised by both Liverpool and Chelsea (I thought they might win but not in the fashion they did) and Arsenal and Utd were all too predictable. Milan were too classy and Arsenal too pretty.

yep Chelsea are just a fuckin great team. Full of great players, Lampard, Duff, Gudjohnson, Drogba, Robben etc.. even Jose Mourhino has character (always whinging when Chelsea lose and stirring trouble)

dont get me wrong , i dont mind chelsea , i hav alot of mates who r in and with chelsea and i used to live just down the rd from stanford bridge

however they arent exactly a great team , they havent exactly raised youngsters and created winners, they havent won a league title in wot 53 years , they were in as much debt as leeds until abramavich took over(the only advangtage was they had those apartment blocks) , so they havent exactly worked thier way to the top , theyve just been given it ,

to be a chelsea fan u must be glad , and i would love it aswell if i was , but im not and in my eyes and most others , u never got to where u are through hard work etc, money got u there,

    amen

Chelsea may not have 'worked' or 'achieved' their money, but that doesn't detract from the fact that they are a great side in the present time and have had to work hard for that.

They still faced the difficulty of challenging for honours on all fronts with a new manager at the helm, it's not as if the whole of Europe said to them 'well since you have so much investment coming into your club at the present time, we may as well just give you the title and cups'.

The current Chelsea team have worked their way to the top of the Premier League through hard work, discipline and determination. Money can't buy these things.

In reference to the comment that Chelsea haven't provided any young players or winners, people may be forgetting Lampard's transformation from being the lesser of three at West Ham (Cole, Carrick, Lampard), John Terry's rise through the ranks, the emergence of Carlton Cole and the maturation of Joe Cole. Compare these names with those of other clubs such as Man Utd and perhaps the best developer of quality youth, Liverpool, and it doesn't measure up. However accusations of not creating youth and winners shouldn't just be levelled at Chelsea but also at a host of other clubs, most notably Arsenal.
