frogman: yeh probably should have popped into Dick Smith's for a squizz at the Kindle.
I occasionally take advantage of the iPad's accessibility feature which inverts screen colours (white on black) which I assume the Kindle doesn't do?
I will probably investigate other iPad apps later though.

My kindle screen had died in the arse. Only half of it works now. Anyone know what they are like with warranty? Got it from woolies am i better off going through them?

My kindle screen has died twice. But their warranties are pretty good. Just ring them up and tell them what happened, they explain that they'll send a new one out, put your old one in the box the new one came in and if they receive it within 90 days, all good, no charge. If they dont receive the broken one back, they'll charge you for the new one on your amazon account/credit card you supplied.

My housemate bought one and I was instantly sold, so I got myself one today.
I got the non-touchscreen model because it's lighter, love it!

just google search for a pdf of a book you want, and demonoid seems to be a good source too for torrents of ebooks.

what do you use to convert pdfs for the kindle? i know i can just email the pdf to ***@kindle.com but sometimes the pdf is really hard to read - too small etc. Mind you, I have been reading it via the kindle app on my iphone (i get my kindle at the end of the year whoop)
