so animals in the wild are inhumane?
He's just putting the rat in there and letting the turtle do what it does naturally...and what would most likely happen to the rat in the wild...or maybe it might get swallowed alive by a python, or torn up by an owl?
plenty of carnivorous pets/zoo animals get fed live prey, no more or less cruel than this, this guy just happened to video it.
Does filming make it inhumane?
Maybe it only eats live food, plenty of predatory animals will only respond to live (moving) food, even when they are kept captive
^
dude, now you're just being a knob for the sake of it here. or being the devils advocate, whatever. are you really going to keep defending this?
yes, filming ONLY the mutilation of the food, on repeat then broadcasting it like that DOES make it inhumane, imo.
once it becomes anything other than feeding time, and moreso constitutes entertainment time, thats when it becomes inhumane. this is not about how nature works, thats another issue. this is about sick fucks clearly doing this for pleasure/entertainment.
ps: it sure is fucking captivating in a way, though. hard to look away.
i think it's totally sick, i mean sick as in sick bad, not sick as in sicknuts!
fair enough it may happen in the wild but filming a creature getting ripped in half and then trying desperately to get away isn't entertaining.
has anyone got any more 'animals torn in half by their predator' videos? i need some for researching wildlife and stuff.
I'm not being a knob, I really don't see how it's any more inhumane to film something that is going to happen anyway, and happens a lot
obviously the dude is gonna feed his turtle live rats regardless, why does filming it make it worse? filming it doesn't change any aspect of how it happens.
or is it just that if he didn't film it and put it on youtube you could pretend it doesn't happen?
also it is entirely possible to find this interesting in a scientific/curious way, predators in nature are fascinating, doesn't mean this is 'entertainment time' and anyone is 'a sick fuck clearly doing this for pleasure'
ok, you're not being a knob - now you're just being a retard. couldnt have missed the point more.
did you watch it? notice the slow-mo of when the rat drowns and the last bubbles of oxygen escape its struggling body, or the close up of ones disembodied head floating to the surface during the "grand finale"? the more gruesome aspects of it were highlighted, repeated, slowed down and extended.
scientifically AND curiously interesting!
rather than playing the tough cunt and being all HURR DURR IT JUST NATURE YOU WEAK LOLZ, answer me this:
do you honestly think this was filmed and posted purely out of curious, scientific interest? or are you just arguing on the internet for the sake of it because you can?
its got nothing to do with anyone pretending whether it happens or not, the point im making here is someone was CLEARLY posting this for pleasure and/or entertainment. which makes them a sick fuck.
advocate this any further and you're just admitting to your own sick-fuckedness![]()
this thread needs saving... I WILL NEVER BE AS AWESOME AS THE BELOW GIF

This isn't the wild. This is the human element. We are 'supposed' to have respect for all things big and small. This video shows that sadly this is not the case.
No they don't....from the RSPCA site
"Feeding live prey should only ever be considered when a reptile will not accept pre-killed prey and is expected to die from starvation if not offered live prey." Note that it only mentions 'reptile' and not just any carnivorous animal.
Unfortunately this is not considered an 'illegal' act in Australia, whilst being illegal in the UK. I wonder why our laws are lax here?!
