Yeah man Iam down with that, play a whole set of tunes that people dont know and rock it.

    Dont work like that boyz.

Name djs who just play only party tunes.

And what is a party tune, is it a tune which the a list djs in england play all the time and rewind. What happens if its a good tune.

I believe upfront with some unknown tunes is the key, even if there are a few "party tunes" its needed.

maybe to the oblivious gurning crowds you play for, but when I hear a tune ive heard a hundred times before, no matter if its good or not, I make a quick exit.

e.g. (marc hears dillinja, exit stage left.)

and you of all people ryan, you get a heap of newbies and promos, fukn play them!

not necessarily new, ...perhaps i should have used the word 'overplayed' like our good ol' friend Mr. Dillinja and his terrible tune 'twist em out' which seems to get played far too often... 6 times i counted at intensity, and i was inside fuck all, thats absolutely disgusting@@#@!@ ... some ppl might love it.

No, surprisingly I'm not smoking crack, or coming out with overdone material.

I only mention it because whenever someone mentions tunes, bands, that have done well commercially, you seem to be the first one in bagging the crap through them.

I thought the MIST remix of LK getting rinsed 4 times at Ez-Rollers / Friction was bad enough...

Is it just a D&B thing where songs are replayed over and over? I've never noticed it happening at any other events.

im not pinpointing one night joecool... its how many times a dj will play the same tune week in and week out for months and months on end and still think its alright to play.

makes me think some people dont care when they're getting paid for it.

Suppose you have apoint about stuff being overplayed, especially the twist em out shit, but really it comes down to your own tastes. Mind you even if a tune has been overplayed and i still like it, i will still keep playing it.
Years ago dillinja used to make some of the best tunes around but now he seems to have hit upon this boring formulaic shite.

    mmmm

im with heretik/churchy, it shits me to tears hearing the same tunes caned over and over, particularly in 2 sets after on another ... EG: i stepped into the DNB arena @ sci fi twice that day, and both times i copped "shake it" ... i wonder how many other times it was played that day? everyone says the wont play it anymore and its commercial crud etc etc but its still getting caned from what i see..

I'll have a bunch of new stuff to play including some new tunes from dj pace

Looking forward to this, it should be a well supported event...

Drum n bass and hardcore in one room all night = full dancefloor all night.
Instead of a war on poverty, they got a war on drugz so the police can bother me...
