[b] Who is going to use their heart and soul and put some REAL effort towards an Outdoor Rave!?
I mean, come on, enough with the 'oh it's too hard' or the 'the cops would have a feild day' bizzniss!

There has been a number of outdoor parties I have been to, sure, the cops were there but fearless promoters like Teknotainment Concepts and Raggabone soldiered on risking trouble in name of keeping the vibe alive! They must have felt that the Ravers deserved it and stuck their neck out in return.

Don't just poo-poo the idea, I reckon current promoters of all kinds and even un established promoters with a good idea should get with the idea. Maybe some extensive work towards it is in order, don't you oldskool and new skool ravers out there think this is worth it!?

There are many many new skool ravers out there that have recently come into the scene and that are coming into the scene that have not been given this ALMIGHTY opportunity.
There is something about outdoor Raves that just blows you away, if you have been to one, you will know.

You seem to have alot of time on your hands and know all the DJz dude, why don't you organize one?

the cost of doing one is the only factor which has stopped us.
If we definitely knew 1000+ people would travel 90+ minutes for an event we'd do one, but thats the main underlying factor.
getting anywhere closer would be a problem i think.

    deffinatley!
it would have to stay pretty underground tho... which is a good thing.
easy travel 90+ minutes for a rave!.. takes me around that time to get to northbridge anyway.. if people arent prepared to do that , then they dont deserve it.

Everyone seems to want an out door party, therefore we are really going to look into a suitable place for you die hard fans out there!
This will be a mecca for Ravers so to speak, there is a couple of tricky things to get past first but all the help is needed -
we have many of you all on the mailing list but if you are not on the list already, get crackin coz the good weather is upon us like no other state in Australia!

    lets hear some noise!

thats the thing - would people be willing to travel? they have alot of outdoor events in M E L B O U R N E, but they also have to travel a fair way to them. something like the pines would be hard to do nowadays (as was evidenced by last year) ...unless its kept so underground only a couple of hundred people know about it.

If I know its gonna be good I don't have a problem driving out of my way. I spent NYE 2000 down in margs and didn't have a problem driving up to perth half way through the week to go to an event and then drive back down again, all in the one day.

I say bring it on! I love a good mission!

Actually as far as health compliance an outdoor arena holds less headaches than a wharehouse - ventilation, fire compliance, exit signs etc become less of an issue..

What any promoter will have to look at will be - evacuation plans, crowd barriers (ala big day out), crowd control, electrical safety - cabling shite, food vehicles, parking and probably most importantly noise.

I haven't been to an outdoor event since Space Garden in 93 - Kenny L's debut on the rave mic - so best wishes to anyone who gives it a go.

Actually theres a suggested name for you - Space Garden 2.

Hey yeah you are right - no one is doing any outdoor events.
what about doing something at Belvoir around the beginning of December? - could be possible I think.

I'm quite happy to drive that far for an event... I mean the drive there is all part of the fun.
I've driven to the last 4 MR Masters from Mandurah and back the next morning... no problemmo!!

OK, well since I had a blast at Deja Vu and Space Garden I'm willing to help a production company if they have health questions relating specifically to public building regs, health act and EP Noise regs.

So long as theres an old skool set!! hehehe

90min is nothing. Both Rave ina Cave's I've been 2 were mostly word of mouth + they were well supported near Yalingup. They were HUGE
